Father McGivney Catholic High School is the seventh and newest Catholic high school to open in the Diocese of Springfield, Illinois. Opening its doors in 2012, FMCHS prides it- self as a four-year, co-educational high school with a faith-based, college preparatory em- phasis. FMCHS is the first and only high school in the diocese to be a 1:1 laptop school. The school opened its doors to our permanent school campus for the start of the 2015-2016 academic year with a student body of 125 students. Today, the student body has grown to nearly 240 students. Students are admitted to FMCHS without regard to race, religion, color, sex, nationality, or Founder of the Knights of Columbus ethnic origin. Five percent of students are members of minority groups. Ten percent are non-Catholic. The standard school day consists of nine periods.     Since 1922, the purpose of Alpha Chi has been to promote academic excellence and exemplary character among college and university students and to honor those who achieve such distinction. Alpha Chi accepts only students who place in the top ten percent of their class from all academic disciplines. With some 300 chapters, located in almost every state, the organization inducts approximately 10,000 members annually. The Alpha Chi Constitution & Bylaws is our governing document. The National Council is the planning and executive arm of Alpha Chi. Its membership varies but includes a constitutional minimum of eight faculty members elected by the National Convention, seven other faculty who are regional secretary-treasurers, and seven students representing their regions. From the faculty members on the Council are elected the three national officers: president, vice president, and secretary.
