Save File Location O Playing co-op in Far Cry 5 QUESTION: How do I start a co-op session in Far Cry 5 and how does co- op work in general? ANSWER: Far Cry 5 offers you the opportunity to play any or all missions of the game alongside a friend in a cooperative game mode. In this FAQ we'll explain to you how it works. Before we get to the details, here is some general information: Please note that you will need an internet connection as well as an active console membership (Xbox Live Gold or PS Plus) to play in co-op mode. Additionally, please make sure that co-op mode is enabled in your game's settings. To set up a co-op session, you can invite one of your friends to join you. The invitation is based on the friends list of the platform you are playing the game on (PS4, Xbox One, PC). Co-op mode is not available cross-platform. The friend you'd like to play with needs to be on your platform's friends list. Simply invite a friend from your list from the game's Main Menu. They will receive an invitation and once they accept, they will automatically join your game and appear near your character with the character they customised during their own single player campaign. In co-op mode, the narrative of the game is centered around the player hosting the game (the player who invited another player into their session). This means: - Only the host can interact with NPCs to start missions or hire Guns for Hire. - The game will progress for the hosting player. The invited player is essentially a "Friend for Hire", helping the host progress in the game. However, any personal player progression achieved by the friend will be kept and transferred to their own game (for example XP, in-game currency, inventory items, completed challenges, with some specific exceptions). Players can interact with each other in a co-op session, for example by exchanging ammunition or medkits. Also, friendly fire is possible. If you wish, you can turn on the friendly fire option in the game's settings - It is disabled by default. However, players in a co-op session cannot travel too far from each other. Once a certain distance threshold is reached, the guest will automatically be teleported back to the host player. If you'd like to know more about playing co-op in Far Cry 5, feel free to take a look at this comprehensive post on the official Far Cry 5 website. Save file location of Far Cry 5 QUESTION: Where are the save files located? ANSWER: These are the default save file locations by platform: PC (Uplay) C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\savegames\ PC (Steam) C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\savegames\ Playstation 4 Settings > Application Saved Data Management > Saved Data In System Storage > Far Cry 5 Xbox One My Games and Apps > Far Cry 5 > Menu > Manage Game > Saved Data I cannot find my content in Far Cry 5 QUESTION: I cannot find my bonus content in-game, what can I do? ANSWER: If you redeemed bonus content such as Season Pass, Deluxe Pack or pre-order bonus but the game seems to be missing the corresponding items, there are a few things you can do to investigate and fix the situation: 1. Please double check if you have finished the mission The Resistance; some pieces of content become available only once this mission is completed. To check completed missions, open the game menu and navigate to the tab Journal. 2. Please make sure you redeemed your content successfully. Double check if you entered your codes in the right place: Pre-order Season Pass, Deluxe Pack and other content packs 3. If the items are missing in-game, please check if you may need to download and install them manually. The process depends on whether you are on PC (Uplay and Steam), PS4 or Xbox One. 4. Double check if the items are available to you in-game. Here is some information to help you do that: To find out what content your edition should include, visit this FAQ. To get more details about the content of your ULC, have a look at this FAQ. To check the contents of the Season Pass, go to this FAQ. For information on where to find the items in-game, consult this article. Also, here is some separate information on the Doomsday Prepper Pack, MBP Sniper Rifle and Chaos Pack. If the items you should have received are still not available in-game after these four steps, please contact us with the following information: Which edition did you purchase? Which pack or bonus content did you redeem? Which content exactly is missing? Please attach a copy or an image of your purchase receipt to your ticket as well as screenshots illustrating which items are missing. We'll be happy to investigate for you! ANSWER: In Far Cry 5, you can only carry a limited number of weapons on you. However, a great array of different weapons are available in-game, so you will probably want to change your loadout many times during the game. In this FAQ we'll tell you how. To switch between weapons that you currently carry and the Throwables you use, open the Weapons Wheel (L1 on PS4 / Xbox One, Q on keyboard). This will show you the weapons you have on you. Select a different weapon from the Wheel to switch weapons. You can also switch weapons by picking up a weapon you might find in the game world. This will replace the weapon you are using with the one you are picking up. If you'd like to change your loadout, you can visit any shop that sells weapons. Weapons you have previously unlocked by fulfilling the corresponding requirement will be available to pick up from a shop for free at any time. If you do, you can choose a slot for them on your Weapons Wheel. To unlock additional slots in your Weapons Wheel, consider unlocking the Perks Additional Holster and Weapons Collector - they allow you to carry one additional weapon each that can be selected through your Weapons Wheel. Sometimes, you might find weapons in-game that you have not unlocked yet. In that case, you can use the weapon as long as you have it equipped in your Weapons Wheel. If you lose it at some point, it will not be available in the shop until you fulfill the unlock requirements. If you decide to customise your weapon with a skin or attachments like scopes, suppressors or magazines, they will stay attached to the weapon until you decide to replace them. If you pick up the weapon again from a shop, you will receive it complete with the attachments you chose. vConnectivity issues in Far Cry 5 on PC QUESTION: I am experiencing issues with online features of Far Cry 5 on PC. Frank G. Bosman and Archibald L. H. M. van Wieringen Reading The Book of Joseph A Communication-Oriented Analysis of Far Cry 5 Abstract In the game Far Cry 5, a book called The Book of Joseph plays an important role. It is the confession, autobiography and sermon compilation of Joseph Seed, the leader of the fundamentalist, Christian-inspired violent Doomsday cult called “Project at Eden’s Gate”. In the game, the player is tasked to defeat Seed’s grip on – fictional – Hope Coun- ty, Montana (USA). The Book of Joseph is not only found in the game, where its content is kept hidden from the player, but is also featured in a live-action trailer, called The Baptism. Most importantly, Joseph Seed’s book has also been published as a physical object and was distributed to the first2 ,000 buyers of the Mondo edition of the game. In this article, the authors argue that the communicative function of The Book of Joseph differs significantly from one medial object to the next (game, trailer, book), influenced by the intertextual and intermedial relationships between those medial objects and by their exclusive characteristics. Using a communication-oriented method of text analy- sis, the authors investigate the various communicative processes within the different “texts”, in order to establish the narrative loci of the book’s materiality. For the millions who play games like Assassin’s Creed, Just Dance, Tom Clancy’s series, Rayman, Far Cry and Watch Dogs, Ubisoft creates worlds that are intensely engaging, fun and meaningful. But developing such immersive experiences and staying relevant in the increasingly competitive gaming market requires an equally intense production and delivery process. An increasing number of consoles from companies like Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo require multiple versions of each game to be created and tested. And emerging display standards like 4K, HDR and VR mean managing enormous file sizes. “When we produce a game, it typically involves hundreds of people, programmers, artists, game designers and testers, from multiple studios around the world working on the same game, including a lead studio and several co-development studios,” says Li Xiao Song, Ubisoft Service Manager. Everyone working on a game needs to receive each new version, so they can run it, see what has been done and test it.
