hi folks, please read attachment. This is another “Nation Building” project similar to CP rail construction, St. Lawrence Seaway, and TransCanada Pipeline. All of these projects benefited all of Canada. This LNG project is in the “Nation Building” category.

Dear Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency,

I am writing to you today to express our support for Pacific NorthWest LNG.

My position within the company is VP Corporate Business Development for Core Laboratories Canada Ltd. We presently employ 234 (two hundred and thirty-four) people in Western Canada. Our business directly supports the natural gas industry. I am very familiar with Progress Energy, as they are a customer of ours, who will produce the natural gas to be liquefied by Pacific NorthWest LNG. Progress Energy’s drilling activity, which is a major contributor to the local economy in northeast British Columbia. Without Pacific NorthWest LNG, Progress Energy’s drilling activity would slow significantly or may cease entirely, and that would negatively impact many businesses like mine. I also believe we can have industrial development that maintains the integrity of the environment. Included in this is the transport of hydrocarbons by pipeline and offshore tankers, in an environmentally responsible manner. I want to see economic growth in northeast BC. I want Core Lab business to grow. I want to be able to hire more employees. In the past eighteen months we have been forced to lay off in various stages, 50% (fifty percent) of our staff. These were not pleasant experiences for those involved. Approving Pacific NorthWest LNG will help ALL of Canada economically. I also believe we can have responsible industrial development that maintains the integrity of the environment. I urge the Government of Canada to approve Pacific NorthWest LNG’s environmental certificate.

Sincerely,

Ian McConnell, VP Corporate, Business Development, Core Laboratories Canada Ltd., 2100, 125 – 9th Ave. S.E., Calgary, AB. T2G 0P6
