 Harvest is the time when crops are ready for cutting and gathering.It is the time for celebration. Harvest festivals are celebrated in different states with different names. BIHU

 It is the harvest of Assam. Three Bihus are celebrated in a year. People wear different traditional clothes and perform dances and sing traditional songs. PONGAL

 It is the harvest festival of Tamil Nadu. It is celebrated for three days. are washed, painted and decorated with garland, fed and worshipped. It generally falls I the month of January. The people decorate their houses and make ‘rangoli’. A dish called Pongal is made which is eaten and served to guests. ONAM

 Onam is the harvest festival of Kerala. It is called the festival of flowers. People wear new clothes and eat a special meal seved on banana leaves. Boat races are held at a number of places in Kerala. BAISAKHI

 Baisakhi is the harvest festival of Punjab. It is celebrated with great enthusiasm in the whole of North India. The men perform ‘bhangra’ at the beat of ‘dhol’ and women do the ‘giddha. ‘Langars’ are held in gurudwaras. Class work
