Governor Doug Ducey is the 23rd governor of the state of Arizona. He was elected on November 4, 2014 and sworn into office on January 5, 2015 – inheriting a $1 billion budget deficit. With a mission to make Arizona the best state in the country to live, work, do business and get an education, Governor Ducey and state leaders got to work. Today, Arizona’s budget is balanced. Business is thriving. And public schools continue to improve.

The governor remains committed to what he has identified as his top priorities: growing the economy, creating and supporting 21st-century jobs, promoting educational excellence, protecting our communities and restoring fiscal responsibility – all without raising taxes on hardworking Arizonans.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE Governor Ducey was elected to the gubernatorial office on November 4, 2014 and sworn in on January 5 of the following year. In this position, he serves as Arizona’s 23rd Governor. Prior to election as Governor, Ducey served in a variety of other roles, including 4 years as State Treasurer. Doug came to Arizona in 1982 to attend Arizona State University, where he graduated with a degree in Finance. After graduation, he worked for Proctor & Gamble and ultimately landed a position at Cold Stone Creamery, where he helped a small company grow to one with over 1440 locations around the world. He and his partners sold the company in 2007.

Alarmed by deficit spending and the growth of government, Gov. Ducey ran for public office to make a difference, first as State Treasurer and then as Arizona’s 23rd Governor.

EDUCATION AND AWARDS Governor Ducey holds a degree in Finance from Arizona State University.
