La sua innocenza, combinata con un invidiabile sicurezza, la fa apprezzare subito nell'ambiente, ma, fuori di esso, i pregiudizi sono tanti. Stephen Elliot, classe 1971, giornalista e scrittore, pubblicato tra gli altri da Mc Sweeney's, per il suo debutto cinematografico sceglie una protagonista femminile colta nel momento in cui può prendere in mano il proprio destino e le fa fare una scelta molto particolare, depurando lo sguardo dai moralismi e approcciando il mondo del porno con la lucidità e la praticità di un mestiere come gli altri, come il commercialista o l'imprenditore (sfumatura che infatti non manca). La sicumera di Angelina in scena e dei suoi inventori dietro la macchina da presa (Elliot scrive con Lorelei Lee, attrice porno) non riescono però, purtroppo per loro, a convincerci della tesi in campo.
