1 IT’S A GUNG-HO ADVENTURE ON FAMILY DAY It’s a gung-ho affair when everyone gets excited and raring to take part. That was how best to describe Family Day for West Coast GRC and Pioneer Constituency on 27 August 2017. Over 4,000 family members were at the Adventure Cove Waterpark at Resorts World to play games, enjoy water adventures and have fun together. Grassroots advisors present included Mr , Mr S Iswaran, Mr , BBM, Ms and Mr .

2 ROBOTS AND CASHLESS PAYMENT: HAWKER CENTRE GOES HI-TECH

Jurong West has scored a first in hawker centre productivity with tray return robots and an integrated cashless payment system, with the food stalls providing faster turnaround service especially during peak hours.

Residents can pay at self-payment kiosks (NETS, NetsFlash Pay, Credit Cards, Debit Cards, PayWave, Apple Pay, Samsung Pay and Ezlink) or use cash.

The centre is poised to transform into a thriving communal focal point for families to bond and take part in activities including thematic festive fairs, career fairs, and music performances. It has 34 cooked food stalls and 14 market slab stalls, with close to 500 seats. Diners can enjoy a variety of local favourites and fusion dishes as well as healthier choices approved by the Health Promotion Board.

The centre was opened on 8 Oct 2017 by Dr , Senior Minister of State, Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources and Ministry of Health, Mr Patrick Tay, BBM, MP for West Coast GRC, and Mr Cedric Foo, MP for Pioneer Constituency.

Good news for dialysis patients staying at West Coast. A new dialysis centre to be opened at Block 701 West Coast Road will provide more NEW DIALYSIS convenience and comfort in their estate. The air-conditioned centre will CENTRE FOR have 19 dialysis stations to benefit 114 needy patients. Construction work have started in August 2017 and is scheduled to WEST COAST operate in February 2018, according to the National Kidney Foundation (NKF). NKF added that “the new centre will not cause disturbance to RESIDENTS residents. The centre will only occupy part of the void deck space at Block 701 West Coast Road. Its activities will be quiet.”

9 Community Diary SILVER CHARIOT PROCESSION DRAWS THE CROWD Ayer Rajah A silver chariot was the centrepiece for the Indian religious Boon Lay ceremony at Block 404 on 23 September 2017. The colourful event, attended by over 1,000 residents, HARMONY POTLUCK SETS was filled with devotional songs and dances to welcome the arrival of Chariot. CHILDREN’S DAY MAKES A SPLASH A splashing good time – this was how more than 500 Ayer Rajah children and parents enjoyed Children’s Day at the Swimming Complex on 30 September 2017. The Sunday morning activity, supported by over 1,000 ‘early bird’ residents, was followed by the observance ceremony and a carnival of fun and games for residents and their families.
