Steak House 2635 SO. MARYLAND PARKWAY LAS VEGAS It's amazing some of the things Big Lew does on a basketball (IIHINO R1 fUINITUU) court. Talking to Jerry Tarkanian almost constantly, he can run, jump, intimidate, dribble, pass the ball, and shoot extremely well. Coach Tarkanian has said that Lewis could just be the fastest man on the Rebel team. Against the University of New Mexico last Saturday, Lew was in the game during the Rebel delay game and at one point he was at the top of the key, handling the ball like a guard. All of a sudden, he found 5-10 junior guard Robert Smith under the hoop, lofted a nice pass to him for an assist. What a contrast it was to see Big Lew dribble around in front DESERT SPRINGS and tiny Robert underneath the hoop, but, it worked, and, the complete medical and surgical cente Rebels won the game, 80-73. FULLY ACCREDITED bY THE JOINT COMMISSION ON ACCREDITION OF HOSPITALS Lewis has started only three games so far this season, but he still 24 HOUR EMERGENCY SERVICE has some impressive stats. The Rebels won the 25th annual Steel Bowl Classic, (Shopping Center) and Big Lew was selected to the all-tourney team along with team mate Eddie Owens. Against the University of California, Irvine, the 6-10 center scored 27 points, including some crowd-pleasing long jumpers and fancy dribbling and got 16 rebounds in the game as well. In all, he has led the Rebels in rebounding in seven of the first 18 games. Certainly not bad for a starter, let alone a reserve player. But, as Jerry Tarkanian puts it, "We don't really have starters, we just have eight guys that play a lot more than the rest and all eight play quite a bit of the time." Glen Gondrezick plays an average of 27 minutes per game to lead the team, and of the top eight players, talented freshman Reg gie Theus is playing 16 minutes per game. McCANCE REALTY. INC. Big Lew is quite popular here in the Las Vegas Convention Cen REAL TORSe ter. He is outspoken, agressive, and enjoys playing before the Las Dawson Bu ilding One Bed -Two Persons 4055 South Spencer Vegas fans. Lew makes his presence felt every time he steps onto Las Vegas 891 09 the basketball court. When Lewis first appeared in the "Pit" last Saturday against Restaurant - Lounge Best Wishes in Coming Y ear! UNM, he reacted to some physical play of a with clinched fists. This brought about the ire of the Lobo fans, but it didn't & bother Lew. He still scored eight points and led the Rebels in re STEINER bounding with nine, while playing just 16 minutes of the game. CASINO CLEANERS & LAUNDRY Lewis Brown has done some exciting things on the court for the Rebels and his contributions to this year's success have not been minimal. PERSONALIZED FRIENDLY SERVICE Big Lew is a fine shooter, making .552 per cent of his shots, better than anyone else on the squad.
