RECAP

Turnovers hurt Eastern Illinois as the Panthers hung around with Big Ten Conference member Minnesota for a good portion of the contest. EIU missed a field goal when it recovered a fumble in Minnesota territory. The Panthers then fumbled the ball at their own 2-yard line leading to an easy Gophers scored. Minnesota added a blocked punt returned for a touchdown to build an early 21-0 lead in the third quarter. EIU scored all 20 of its points in the final seven minutes. Andrew Manley passed for 200 yards as he hit Jimmy Lera and Adam Drake for touchdowns. Manley also rushed in from two-yards out. In the game Adam Drake moved into 10th on the EIU career list for receptions and receiving yards.
