Features • This 3.5″ adapter will fit into any standard bay for convenient access right in your computer. • Use FSMR to access multiple media types in one unit. FSMR can read 5 different media types (MMC/SD (MultiMedia Card/Secure Digital), SmartMedia, CompactFlash and Sony Memory Sticks). • This unit has a unique self-regulating icon that will change instantly depending on which media type is being accessed. • The LED indicator not only shows power status but will also signal file transfer status.

Installation Instructions

1. Check the accessories with your FSMR. Please contact WiebeTech if any parts are missing or damaged. The box should contain the following items:

3. To use FSMR internally or externally plug in the IDE ribbon cable into the IDE connection port. If you are installing FSMR inside a computer, the other end of the ribbon cable will need to be plugged into an empty IDE slot on the motherboard. If you are using FSMR externally, connect it to your DriveDock as shown to the right. Connect the dock to your computer via USB. Also, if there is a plastic jumper on the back of the FSMR, remove it.

4. For internal use mount FSMR in your computer. In an open 3.5″ bay in your computer, install FSMR as you would an internal floppy disk drive. A bracket will be needed to install into a 5.25″ bay.

5. Your FSMR is ready to use. Now just insert one of any of the five media types that you need to access.

Usage with Windows Computers

Compatibility The FSMR is compatible with Windows XP. No drivers are needed on this operating system.

Ejecting Volumes To eject the flash media, click the green arrow icon on the task bar and ok the prompt to “Safely Remove” the device. Windows will indicate when to remove the media from FSMR.

In the event that you experience Radio Frequency Interference, you should take the following steps to resolve the problem: 1) Ensure that your unit is plugged into a grounded electrical outlet. 2) Use a data cable with RFI reducing ferrites on each end. 3) Use a power supply with an RFI reducing ferrite approximately 5 inches from the DC plug.
