OVERVIEW a. The CARS eSport Tour is the official esports competition of the real-life CARS Tour. It is contested using the iRacing Motorsport Simulation. The CARS eSport Tour races with iRacing’s Late Model Stock Car (LMSC) and Super Late Model (SLM) on short tracks available within iRacing across the eastern United States, including tracks that the Solid Rock Carriers Cars Tour races at in real life where available. The CARS eSport Tour follows the doubleheader format that the Solid Rock Carriers CARS Tour uses, with two races of equal length for both the LMSCs and the SLMs. The LMSC division of the CARS eSport Tour will be fixed setup, while the SLM division of the CARS eSport Tour will be open setup. b. The CARS eSport Tour Schedule is listed on the table below. All races will start at 9 p.m. ET. Both divisions will race on the same night, with one division’s race directly following the other. The order of divisions on each race night will vary; Podium eSports will announce the order internally to drivers and teams on its Discord server (https://discordapp.com/invite/6xpSWhK) before each race night. 2 2020 CARS eSPORT TOUR SCHEDULE Laps Date Track (LMSC, In-Sim Time SLM) Southern National Motorsports March 11 150 3/7/2020, 3 p.m. Park March 18 Richmond Raceway 100 3/21/2020, 7 p.m. April 1 Five Flags Speedway 150 4/4/2020, 7 p.m. April 29 New Smyrna Speedway 125 5/1/2020, 8 p.m. May 13 Lanier National Speedway 150 5/17/2020, 3 p.m. June 3 Bristol Motor Speedway 100 6/5/2020, 7 p.m. July 8 Myrtle Beach Speedway 100 7/11/2020, 7 p.m. July 22 North Wilkesboro Speedway 125 7/4/2020, 7 p.m. July 29 Charlotte Legends Oval 150 8/1/2020, 8 p.m. August 19 Martinsville Speedway 125 8/22/2020, 7 p.m. August 26 Langley Speedway 125 8/29/2020, 7 p.m. September South Boston Speedway 125 9/19/2020, 3 p.m. 16 Nashville Fairgrounds October 28 125 11/1/2020, 7 p.m. Speedway 3 2. REGISTRATION a. To be eligible for the CARS eSport Tour, drivers must hold a Class D Oval License or higher and an Oval iRating of at least 1500. b. In order to compete in the CARS eSport Tour, drivers must complete the registration form on the Podium eSports website. Each division of the CARS eSport Tour will cost $35 to enter. Drivers can purchase entry for a single race for $5. c. Upon completing the registration form on the Podium eSports website, all drivers must be registered as part of the “CARS eSport Tour” league within the iRacing members site. The league homepage can be found at https://members.iracing.com/membersite/member/LeagueView.do?league=2505. Drivers are required to submit an application to the league on the iRacing members site once they have completed registration on the Podium eSports website. Podium eSports administrators will regularly check the league page for outstanding applications and approve them should drivers meet the eligibility and registration requirements listed above. Because all race sessions for the CARS eSport Tour will be set up under the “CARS eSport Tour” league, drivers will not be able to compete in any CARS eSport Tour races unless they are first members of the “CARS eSport Tour” league on the iRacing members site. d. Drivers will be asked to submit their preferred car numbers for the CARS eSport Tour upon registration. Though these preferences will be considered, a driver’s car number will ultimately be assigned at Podium eSports’ discretion. 4 3. PAINT SCHEME REQUIREMENTS a. If teams and/or drivers wish to have custom paint schemes appear on the broadcast, drivers and/or teams may submit their *.tga file(s) directly to Podium eSports. Podium eSports will NOT use Trading Paints to pull custom paint schemes. The form to submit paint schemes to Podium eSports can be found here: (link) b. Drivers may run schemes and branding that they own the rights to or have obtained the rights to run. If drivers have any corporate sponsors on their cars outside of those included in the iRacing Paint Booth, drivers must be able to provide written documentation that they have the right to display trademarked logos and sponsors that are not their own intellectual property. c. All sponsors MUST be appropriate for broadcast and only feature goods and services that may be legally purchased in the United States of America. They must not include any derogatory or hateful statements toward protected groups and entities as defined by United States federal law, nor include any messaging that Podium eSports deems inappropriate. All paint schemes are subject to the Twitch™ Terms of Service (see Appendix A). d. Numbers on drivers’ cars MUST be kept visible and easily readable, preferably in highly contrasting colors. e. If Podium eSports deems a driver’s paint scheme to be outside of the guidelines listed above, that driver’s default iRacing Paint Booth scheme will be shown on the broadcast. Drivers whose paint schemes are disallowed under these grounds are subject to further penalties upon review from Podium eSports. 5 4. RACE NIGHT PROCEDURES a. Each race night of the CARS eSport Tour will feature two servers - one for the LMSC race, and one for the SLM race. The order of races will vary between race nights; Podium eSports will announce the order internally to drivers and teams on its Discord server (https://discordapp.com/invite/6xpSWhK) before each race night. Both servers will be set to the same in-sim time, and will use dynamic weather and skies. The starting track state for both practice will be 30%. Track state will carry over within each server from practice to qualifying and from qualifying to the race. b. The schedule for each race night of the CARS eSport Tour is as follows. All times listed are in Eastern Time (ET): Server 1 Server 2 Time Session Time Session 8:00 Practice 9:00 Practice 8:50 Drivers’ Meeting After 9:50 Drivers’ Meeting 9:00 Qualifying After Race 1 Qualifying Five minutes 9:05 Race 1 Race 2 after Qualifying c. Both servers will be guaranteed at least one hour of practice time. Server 1 will advance on schedule, while Server 2 will be advanced into Qualifying by Race Control. This is to ensure that both races are broadcast in their entirety. Depending on the length of the first race of the evening, Server 2 may occasionally receive more practice time than Server 1. d. All drivers are expected to treat practice as if it were an official race server on iRacing. No intentional wrecking or spinning will be allowed during practice. Drifters and drivers resetting in the racing groove will be warned and then removed if they continue. 6 e. Drivers MUST be connected to their respective server for the Drivers’ Meeting. Server 1’s Drivers’ Meeting will take place at 8:50 p.m. ET, while Server 2’s Drivers Meeting will take place after the conclusion of Race 1 and at Race Control’s discretion (to ensure that drivers racing in both races have enough time to join Server 2). Race Control will take attendance at the beginning of each Drivers’ Meeting. Failure to attend the Drivers’ Meeting will result in one strike and an automatic End-of-Line (EOL) penalty to start the race (see Section 5.f). f. If a driver cannot attend the Drivers’ Meeting, but will be able to make the race, they MUST notify Race Control before the Drivers’ Meeting starts in their respective server. Failure to notify Race Control in these circumstances will result in one strike and an automatic End-of-Line (EOL) penalty to start the race (see Section 5.f). g. Drivers may not use nefarious tactics to gain an advantage in qualifying sessions. This includes anything that could reasonably be considered an exploit in the simulation software. 7 5. COMPETITION RULES a. All cautions and lucky dogs will be controlled by iRacing. b. Competition Cautions will now be in place for all CARS eSport Tour events just like the real-life counterpart. If the race goes forty (40) consecutive green flag laps without a natural occurring caution, an admin controlled competition caution will occur. The only time this will not occur is if the fortieth (40th) consecutive green flag lap falls inside twenty-five (25) laps to go of the total race distance. (Added May 12th at 11:23 pm EDT) c. Drivers will be allowed to pit for damage repair and fuel starting with Round #5 at Lanier and going through the rest of the season. Drivers are still unable to take tires. Any drivers caught taking tires will receive an immediate disqualification and loss of all championship points for the event. In addition to in-race admins watching for tires, the Top 10 finishers will all be reviewed post-race. If any drivers within the Top 10 have been found to take tires during the post-race review, then that driver will be disqualified and forfeit all championship points. (Amended May 12th at 11:19 pm EDT) d. Each CARS eSport Tour event will have three attempts at a Green-White-Checker finish.
