And Katie says it is Kate and Prince William’s connection to the military community that is driving their commitment to carry out their work during this tough time. “William trained in the RAF and served time with the armed forces, and one day he will be the head of those military services. That connection with the military community is very important to him and I also think for Kate, who for many years was a military wife,” explains Katie. “She lived in Anglesey, she was with William at the time he was serving in the RAF, so she knows what it feels like to be a military wife at home while your partner is taking part in military operations and flying a rescue helicopter.” With this experience has come an “empathy” from the Duchess, says Katie. She continues, “Kate has empathy for the military community and an understanding. She finds a way of very easily connecting with them. This commitment to the military community we see with William and Kate is a continuation of a special relationship with the armed forces and the monarchy. Has he been more protective of you during your pregnancy? He’s quite like that anyway. He’s been looking after me. Because of my bad back, he’s been helping with the cooking. I count myself lucky that I’m with someone who can help with that, otherwise we’d all be going hungry!

Have the kids been helping out? The kids have cooked a little bit as well. I taught them how to do steak and they ask to cook once a week now, so that’s quite fun.

Are you worried about the logistics of who’ll look after the kids when you’ve got a new baby? Have you got a plan? [Laughs] Um, this is when I should be saying yes, isn’t it? I’m a bit of a worrier. It’s quite a busy household as it is – we’ve got a lot going on. There’s a lot of horse riding, football, everything. So it makes me a little bit nervous – having a baby and how he’s going to fit in.

Have you been eating for two or eating normally? Now I’m in the third trimester, I’m hungry, but I don’t really fancy anything – although there’s been room for a Twix in the evening! I’ve been enjoying a Twix. I look at the kids and say, “Is it time for a Twix?” It’s funny. But apart from eating one of those every night, I’m eating less. ‘I’MNOT GOINGTO PUTPRESSURE ONMYSELF’

Do you think you’ll be one of those mums who snaps back into shape after giving birth? You just never know with your body, do you? I’m not going to put too much pressure on myself to snap back.

Do you want to breastfeed? I haven’t really thought about it that much. It’d be quite nice to have help from Rio and the kids if they could feed the baby.

You’ve collaborated with the sports brand Dare 2b and done an edit on their new range… Yes! I struggled at the beginning of my pregnancy to find clothes that were comfortable and stretchy, but this range has three maternity pieces. It has non-maternity clothes, too. I love their nice stretchy, soft materials.

The high-waisted leggings certainly look ideal... They are. When you’re pregnant you don’t want anything digging in, so it’s nice to have comfort. 20 WWW.OK.CO.UK 21 ‘IWAS CONVINCED THEKIDS KNEWIWAS PREGNANTBUT THEYDIDN’T HAVEACLUE’

22 Have you been working out during Were you surprised when you found out you the pregnancy? were expecting? Yeah, although I haven’t really put much of it Yes I was! We were doing live workouts twice on my social media. a week after launching Ferdinand Fitness and I was getting really out of breath. I was thinking, Are you scared trolls might comment on it? “These people are going to think I’m not as fit as I’m actually not because all the doctors and I am!” I didn’t know why I was struggling, then it midwives, and everyone you see, say, “Make came to light that I was pregnant. Working out is good for me mentally – putting a bit of time We loved the video you posted on Instagram aside and moving. So I’ve been doing Pilates where you told the kids... and some pre-natal sessions, which is a lot I was convinced the children knew. Convinced! slower than I’m used to. But they didn’t have a clue.

WWW.OK.CO.UK 23 Tia was quite open about wanting a sister. Has she come to terms with the fact she’s going to have another brother? She has. She really wanted a girl and was convinced it was. I thought it would be a girl as well at the beginning. But she’s fine now – we’ve come to terms with the fact we’re very outnumbered in a house of boys. But I’ve said to her she’s the only princess and she’s quite happy with that.

Do you think she’ll be helpful with the baby? I think all the kids are really excited and I’ve got three little helpers, which is quite lucky.

Have you picked a name yet? We have a couple of potentials. But we’re just waiting to see what he looks like when he comes out and if he suits them.

Have the kids had a say? Yeah, we discuss everything as a family. There’s one favourite name, but the more I say it the more I go off it! So we’ve decided not to talk about it for a while.

Do you think the older kids will feel left out when the baby comes? No. I’m worried about how I’m going to cope with four kids and two dogs, but I’m not worried about giving them the love or them feeling left out. We’re all so close. When the baby first comes it will take a bit of time, but it’s really important for me that all the children are treated the same and they all have the same amount of love, care and attention.

You obviously have a really strong connection with them… We’ve got a really strong bond that I don’t think could be broken by a baby or anything like that. No one’s nose will be put out of joint. 24 WWW.OK.CO.UK 25 ‘I’VENEVER CHANGEDA NAPPYBEFORE BUTRIOWILL DEFINITELYHELP’

Do you think you’ll make a good birthing partner, Tom? Tom: I like cracking jokes usually, but that day I won’t be. It’s all about Sam and I’ll do as I’m told!

Sam, you took part in I’m A Celebrity in 2016. Are you still in contact with any of your campmates? Sam: We still have a WhatsApp group. I’m closest to Carol Vorderman. She’s so genuine and down to earth. She came to our wedding and she’s a good mate. I told her about the baby as I had spoken to her about my miscarriage. She sent a really lovely voice note and said she had a tear in her eye for us. OK!

1 Wonder serum I’m a big fan of things that do what they say on the tin, so I was instantly drawn to Dior Capture Totale Cell Energy Super Potent Serum, from £59.50 (well, no one wants one called Fairly Average Serum, do they?!). The brand’s most effective formula to date, it’s packed full of skincare heavyweights such as niacinamide, squalane and low molecular weight hyaluronic acid, which delivers deep hydration. Judging by the glow on supermodel Gisele Bündchen, the face of Capture Totale, on a recent series of YouTube videos, I reckon this serum’s name is totally justified.

In the REM sleep cycle, everything that’s happened in our day is identified, stored and filed in part of our brain, with instructions about what it connects to. That can be done with sleep.
