Introduction

Dear Students: The Office of Clinical Advising and Clerkships (CAC) has created this Core Clerkships Guide to showcase our offerings at our affiliated teaching sites. (Core clerkships can only be completed at sites that have an affiliation agreement with AUC, per our accrediting body.) This guide, which will be updated frequently, will have the following information on each affiliated core site:  Address  Information  Requirements  List of cores offered  Duration of each core Please keep in mind that this guide is informational only: Scheduling of Core Clerkship rotations must be conducted through the CAC Office after a passing United States Medical Licensing Examination® (USMLE®) Step 1 score is reported. Students are not to contact the sites directly to schedule core clerkships under any circumstances. Rotations are scheduled first‐come, first‐served, based on the date the student sat for the USMLE Step 1 examination, and on availability at the time the scores are received. No site is guaranteed. Curricular Requirements Students are required to complete 42 weeks of core clerkships.  12 weeks  General 12 weeks  6 weeks  Obstetrics & Gynecology 6 weeks  6 weeks

These clerkships can be completed in any order. The scheduling order will be determined by either the clinical teaching site or CAC. Unless specified, all core clerkships are Accreditation Council for Graduate (ACGME)‐accredited. You can always contact the CAC office should you have additional questions, or are unable to find information, please email Student Services Advisors at [email protected].

IMPORTANT: Changes to the core schedule or failure to provide mandatory and/or updated documentation, for any reason with less than 45 days’ notice before the scheduled start date, will result in a penalty fee of $600 per week for the total number of weeks cancelled, plus any additional fees charged by the hospital.

Students may not request to have the start of their clinical rotations delayed beyond 60 calendar days from the receipt of their USMLE Step 1 score per the Student Handbook policy.

UNITED KINGDOM

A student who has passed their USMLE Step 1 examination and will be traveling to the UK for completion of eighteen weeks or more core clerkships is eligible for a $1200 subsidy toward the cost of expenses during these rotations. It is recommended that students traveling to the UK use this subsidy to purchase their round‐trip airline ticket as AUC will provide no other subsidy for the cost of air travel. (AUC will no longer provide flight tickets through TSI)

If the student cancels or changes the schedule for any reason with less than 45 days’ notice, he or she will be charged a late cancellation fee of $600 per week for the total number of weeks cancelled. This fee will be in addition to any penalty fee charged by the hospital.

Once a student has accepted a fully or partially tracked core clinical clerkship schedule, they must complete the acknowledgement and agreement in its entirety and supply the required documentation. If at any point after accepting the tracked schedule, the student should wish to change any part of it, they may incur associated fees including applicable late cancellation fees, a $2,000 administrative fee, and any additional fees or penalties imposed by the site for the uncompleted rotations.
