Pursuant to New York State Department of Health 405.4, any International Medical Graduate (IMG) enrolled in a after 10/1/83 must have completed his clerkship, including “no more than 12 weeks of in a country other than the country in which the medical school is located.” Any IMG who completed more than 12 weeks of clinical clerkship outside of their medical school’s home country is NOT eligible for graduate medical training in New York State; exceptions may be made only if approved by the New York State Education Department (please note the approved schools listed below).
