The song makes for a vivid case study in Dylanesque reinvention: over nearly 800 performances, Dylan has played it solo and with a band (acoustic and electric); in five different keys; in diverse meters and tempos; and in arrangements that index a dizzying array of genres (folk, blues, country, rockabilly, soul, arena rock, etc.). This is to say nothing of the countless performative inflections in each evening’s rendering, especially in Dylan’s singing, which varies widely as regards phrasing, rhythm, pitch, articulation, and timbre. How can music theorists engage analytically with such a moving target, and what insights into Dylan’s music and its meanings might such a study reveal? The present article proposes one set of answers to these questions. First, by deploying a range of analytical techniques—from spectrographic analysis to schema theory—it demonstrates that the analytical challenges raised by Dylan’s performances are not as insurmountable as they might at first appear, especially when approached with a strategic and flexible methodological pluralism. -

The study has determined demand and projected impacts associated with the Project, specifically with relation to attendance, room nights generated, and potential incremental hotel rates associated with compression from the convention activity, as well as compression from NFL games. January 3, 1992 – Larry Johnson becomes the first Hornets player to be named NBA Rookie of the Month, winning the award for the month of December. January 3, 2002 – Baron Davis records his third career triple-double in a 114-102 win over Golden State. January 3, 2005 – For the second time in as many months, Emeka Okafor earns the Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month award for the month of December 2004. January 6, 1997 – After being named NBA Player of the Week earlier in the day, Glen Rice scores 39 points to lead the Hornets to a 109-101 win at Golden State. January 7, 1995 – Alonzo Mourning tallies 33 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Hornets to the 200th win in franchise history, a 106-98 triumph over the Boston Celtics at the Hive. 2021-2022 IAVM SLATE OF OFFICERS Chairman of the Board: Eric D. Hart, CVE Eric Hart, CVE is the President/CEO of the Tampa Sports Authority (TSA) in Tampa, Florida and current Dean of the Graduate Institute. The TSA manages Raymond James Stadium, home of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the University of South Florida Bulls, the Hillsborough County Tournament Sportsplex and three City of Tampa municipal golf courses. The TSA also serves as the landlord for Amalie Arena, home of the Tampa Bay Lightning and Steinbrenner Field, spring home for the New York Yankees. Hart previously served as the President and CEO of the Lansing Entertainment and Public Facilities Authority. Prior to Lansing, Hart served as the Director of Event Services for the Minneapolis Convention Center and as Associate Director for the UIC Pavilion in Chicago. He began his career at the Iowa State Center in Ames, Iowa where he served as the Guest Services Manager and was later promoted to Event Coordinator. Hart received a BS in Finance and a MS in Business Education and Administration from Illinois State University. He earned his Certified Venue Executive (CVE) designation in 2013. Eric and his wife Beth are the proud parents of two daughters, Brooke and Paige. First Vice Chair: Adina Erwin, CVE Adina Erwin, CVE is General Manager of Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Adina Alford Erwin General Manager, Barclays Center Adina Erwin is General Manager of Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Erwin joined Barclays Center in 2020, bringing with her more than 25 years of experience in the sports and entertainment industry. Prior to joining Barclays Center, Erwin served as the Senior Vice President of Business Operations for TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts, and the Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for the Fox Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia. During her tenure, the Fox Theatre received multiple accolades, including the ranking of #1 Theatre of the Decade Worldwide by Billboard. Erwin launched the award-winning Fox Theatre Institute, an innovative community engagement and consulting division that provided more than $3 million in grant funding and support to communities in Georgia. She also developed and led a master plan that enhanced existing revenue streams, introduced new revenue opportunities and improved guest and premium experience assets for the Fox Theatre. Since 1993, Erwin has worked in various types of entertainment venues including arenas, convention centers and theaters. In Jacksonville, Florida, she held various management roles for SMG-Jacksonville facilities, such as TIAA Bank Field, Vystar Veterans Memorial Coliseum, and the Times Union Center for the Performing Arts. In addition, she also served on the Super Bowl Host Committee and Event Team for Super Bowl XXXIX. Historically, funding for these facilities has come from the public sector. However, the trend is shifting toward a portion, if not all, of the costs being funded by the private sector. I believe that this financing shift has implications for the design and siting of the facility as well as surrounding real estate activity and values. -

Cuban revolutionaries Fidel Castro and Che Guevera drank here. A longhaired young hippie musician named Jimmy Buffett drank and performed here, too. From the 1930’s through today this rustic dive bar has seen more than its share of the famous and the infamous. It’s a little joint called Capt. Tony’s in Key West, Florida. Eighty-seven-year-old Anthony ‘Capt. Tony’ Tarracino has been the owner and proprietor of this boozy establishment since 1959. It seems Tony, as a young mobster, got himself into some serious trouble with ‘the family’ back in New Jersey and needed to lay low for a while. In those days, the mosquito invested ‘keys’ (or islands) on the southernmost end of Florida’s coastline was a fine place for wise guys on the lam to hide out. And this was well before the tee-shirt shops, restaurants, bars, art galleries, charming B&B’s and quaint hotels turned Key West into a serious year-round tourist destination. Sure, there were some ‘artsy’ types like Hemingway and Tennessee Williams living in Key West during the late 50’s when Tony bought the bar, but it was a seaside shanty town where muscular hard-working men in shrimp boats and cutters fished all day for a living.
