Laptop Specifications – 2012-13 WDT Aided Drafting Program

The following specifications are the recommended requirements for instructor and student used in the Computer Aided Drafting program at WDT for the 2012-13 academic year. These specifications are based on the requirements set forth by Autodesk for their version 2012 64-bit design software.

Hardware

 Microsoft Windows 7 64-bit Enterprise, Ultimate, Professional, or Home Premium edition  ® Core™ i5-2300 quad-core processor (2.8 GHz, 6 MB cache) or equivalent AMD® processor.  8 GB RAM  250 GB Hard Drive  17” Display capable of 1,680 x 1,050 resolution  Autodesk certified display adapter capable of 24-bit color for basic graphics; 256 MB DirectX 10- capable graphics card with Shader Model 3 for advanced graphics (see hardware list below)  Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0 (or later)  Microsoft Mouse-compliant pointing device  DVD9 capable optical drive  Wireless internet connectivity

Software

Students are not required to purchase any of the required design software as it is provided as part of the program cost. Students are responsible for the purchase of Microsoft Office 2010 (Word, Excel, Power Point) which is available at a discounted rate from the WDT website. www.wdt.edu/software
