Besides the charts that are in this guide, there are two other main sources of information available for your use. At last weekend’s District competition, each state qualifier was given a media form to fill out. While not all were returned, a vast majority were. Should you need to use these forms, please contact one of the OHSAA representatives along media row. The other resource available is the complete list of every state placer from 1938‐2014. The last three years (2012, 2013 and 2014) state placers can be found in this media guide. Earlier state placers are available from one of the OHSAA assistants working on media row. If you know of any corrections, please let us know. Note that wrestlers are listed by the school name at the time they attended (i.e. Kettering Fairmont East/West). However, if the school changed mailing addresses (i.e. Dayton Wayne to Huber Heights Wayne) then the school is listed by its new location. Schools that have added to their name, because of an additional school being built (i.e. Pickerington Central/North) are listed according to what the school is currently called. OHSWCA Service Award Winner Jamie Baker, Findlay Courier Fostoria native Jamie Baker has been involved in the sport as a wrestler, coach and writer. Jamie got involved in wrestling in junior high when a coach pulled him aside after basketball practice to drill with one of the high school wrestlers. That practice sparked a love for the sport that has lasted 35 years. He was Fostoria St. Wendelin’s first state qualifier in 1985, placing fourth at state and won the school’s first state championship in any sport when he finished 33-0 in winning the 1986 Class A 285-pound championship. He went on to wrestle for four years at Wright State University in Dayton where he set the school record for fastest pin and was named captain and the team’s Most Valuable Wrestler his senior year. Baker went back to St. Wendelin and was an assistant varsity and junior high coach for 15 years. He has covered wrestling as a reporter for the Findlay Courier since 1995 winning nu- merous awards from the Ohio Prep Sports Writers Association and Associated Press.
