Lauren Steinberg - Assistant Coach

Lauren Steinberg begins her fi rst year as an assistant coach for Laurie Darling Gutheil. Lauren wrapped up her storied career for Saint Rose last fall, but not before putting together an outstanding scholar-athlete resume. Steinberg’s numerous accomplishments were highlighted by her being named one of only 58 NCAA student-athletes to be awarded an educational grant through the NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship Program. She has since begun work towards her MBA at Saint Rose after graduating with a bachelor’s degree in history and political science this past May. Steinberg helped lead the Golden Knights to a school record 19 wins and to their fi fth NCAA Tournament appearance within the past six seasons last autumn. A Daktronics third-team All-American keeper and an NSCAA/Adidas Scholar All-American as a senior, Steinberg fi nished eighth in the country (NCAA II) with a .508 goals-against-average and was 15th with a .859 save percentage. She wound up her career as the College’s all-time leader with a 0.62 GAA, 45 wins and 26 shutouts. The MVP of the 2007 Northeast-10 Conference Tournament, Steinberg was also a three-time All-Conference pick and was an NSCAA scholar All-American as a senior.

Summation: As usual, there is plenty to like about the Golden Knights. They have a bal- anced attack with several players capable of creating in the offensive third coupled with a sound defense. Kylee Litchfi eld: Former All-American fullback Kylee Litchfi eld (’06) is a second year graduate student at Texas Tech University. She is currently working as a graduate assistant doing research in the Educational Psychology department. Kylee is scheduled to completed her master’s in May and plans to continue studying with an eye towards a doctorate in educational psychology with a minor in sports psychology.

Christina Paradise: Former fullback Christina Paradise (’03) graduated last May from Roger Williams University School of Law, where she received her juris doctor, cum laude. Christina was also an assistant coach for the school’s women’s soccer team. Furthermore, Christina was on the editorial staff of the law review and had two survey pieces published in 2007 in the Roger Williams University Law Review. She is currently Kylee Litchfi eld working in the receivership department of Shechtman Halperin Savage LLP in Pawtucket, RI.

Drea Porteus: Former All-Conference striker Drea Porteus (’03) is working towards her master’s in art education with a concentration in screen printing. Drea launched her career at Delmar Cengage Learning, one of the leading international educational publish- Christina Paradise ers, as an Art & Design Coordinator, designing book covers and text designs. She then joined the fi rm’s marketing department in 2006. She recently got promoted to Senior Marketing Communications Manager, where her duties include managing the development and production of all advertising and promotional materials for Delmar Cengage Learning’s Health Care solutions for educational institutions, busi- nesses, and professionals. She also established her own graphic design company in 2003, which includes clients such as Hippos Home Entertainment, New York Charter School Association, and CMK & Associates Real Estate. Drea Porteus Kerri Stone: Former All-American fullback Kerri Stone (’03) is an R&D Firmware Engineer for the Learjet business at Hewlett-Packard in Idaho. She writes code that makes HP Learjet printers actually print. Kerri, who has a master’s in computer science from The Colorado School of Mines, is also an avid road racer with the Dobbiaco Cycling Team in Boise.

Kerri Volkmuth: Kerri Stone Former keeper Kerri Volkmuth (’02), who went on to earn her master’s at Saint Rose, has returned to her native Rochester and is working as a Speech Language Pathologist in the Greece Central School District at Athena Middle School. She is also working as an assistant varsity coach at her high school alma mater, Bishop Kearney.

Eliza Whipple: The all-time leading goal scorer and point producer in school annals, Eliza Whipple Kerri Volkmuth (’03) is an Account Executive with the renown public relations, consulting and marketing fi rm Bullfrog and Baum in New York City. Eliza represents some of the most popular restaurants, chefs, and food personalities in the city including Bobby Flay, Marcus Samuelsson, and The Sage Restaurant Group.

The 2007 club won the fi rst NE-10 postseason championship in any sport by a Saint Rose team throughout its eight year tenure as a league member.
