UNIVERSITY OF OREGON ATHLETIC COMMUNICATIONS 2017 OREGON TRACK & FIELD MPSF Championships February 24-25 Seattle, Wash. 2017 INDOOR SCHEDULE This Week: The Men and Women of Oregon will have their final chance January 14 UW Indoor Preview (Seattle, Wash.) to secure qualifying marks for the NCAA Indoor Championships this January 27-28 Columbia East-West Challenge (New York, N.Y.) weekend at the MPSF Championships in Seattle. The Ducks will send a full contingent to the Dempsey Indoor Center in the hopes of qualifying UW Invitational (Seattle, Wash.) as many athletes as possible for the March 10-11 NCAA Championships February 10-11 Husky Classic (Seattle, Wash.) in College Station, Texas. Don Kirby Elite (Albuquerque, N.M.) February 24-25 MPSF Championships (Seattle, Wash.) The Ducks enter the championship portion of the indoor season with March 10-11 NCAA Championships (College Station, Texas) six NCAA-leading marks, and they are in the top 10 in 12 more events. The top 16 marks in the nation in each event advance to the NCAA TEAM INFORMATION Indoor Championships, except for the relays, which qualify 12. Coaches: Head Coach - Robert Johnson; Assoc. Men Women Entries - Men: Multiple Ducks enter the MPSF Championships this weekend seeking improved marks with the hopes of qualifying for the 60 Kyree King 60 Hannah Cunliffe Julius Shellmire Makenzie Dunmore NCAA Indoor Championships. Sasha Wallace will run the 60-meter hurdles, where she currently Hept Joe Delgado leads the nation, along with Alaysha Johnson (No. 6). Raevyn Rogers will run the 800 meters, where she is currently third in the nation, along with Brooke Feldmeier, who is seeking University Quick Facts a fast time to try and qualify for NCAAs. Conference: Pacific-12 (www.pac-12.org) Enrollment: 24,500 Alli Cash will run the 3,000 meters for Oregon along with Maggie Schmaedick. Location: Eugene, Oregon Schmaedick will compete in the 5,000 meters as well. Cunliffe also broke the school record and set the collegiate record NCAA Championships: 29 to lead a 1-2-3 finish with Deajah Stevens and Makenzie Dunmore. Freshman Men’s Outdoor Track: 1961, 1964, 1965, Katie Rainsberger also took over the NCAA lead in the 3,000 meters in her 1970, 1984, 2014, 2015 first collegiate indoor 3K, winning in a blazing 9:01.21 to move into second Men’s Indoor Track: 2009, 2014, 2015, 2016 in school history. Women’s Outdoor Track: 1985, 2015 Women’s Indoor Track: 2010, 2011, 2012 In total, the Ducks came away with 31 personal bests on the weekend and 2013, 2014, 2016 moved into strong qualifying position in a myriad of events. Men’s Cross Country: 1971, 1973, 1974, 1977, 2007, 2008 Women’s Cross Country: 1983, 1987, Ducks Lead NCAA in 6 Events: Going into the final weekend for NCAA 2012, 2016 qualifying marks, the Ducks hold six NCAA-leading times entering this week, with five coming on the women’s side. Hannah Cunliffe leads in the 60 meters Conference Championships: 68 (7.09), Deajah Stevens leads the 200 meters (22.65), Sasha Wallace leads the Men’s Track & Field: 1924, 1934, 1965, 60 meter hurdles (7.91) and the women’s distance medley relay team took 1967, 1978, 1979, over the NCAA lead at the Columbia East-West Challenge in New York while 1986, 1990, 2003, setting the all-time collegiate record (10:48.77). Freshman Katie Rainsberger 2005, 2007, 2008, gave the Ducks the NCAA lead in the 3,000 meters two weeks ago with a 2009, 2010, 2011, blazing time of 9:01.21, and on the men’s side, Edward Cheserek took over 2012, 2013, 2014 2015, 2016 the lead in the 5,000 meters with a PR time of 13:32.59 at the Husky Classic Women’s Track & Field: 1983, 1984, 1985, in Seattle as well. Additionally, the Ducks are in the top 10 in 12 more events. 1986, 1991, 1992, 2009, 2010, 2011, Rankings: The Women of Oregon remain as the top-ranked team in the 2012, 2013, 2014, latest USTFCCCA computer rankings, while the Men of Oregon dropped 2015, 2016 one spot to No. 3. Men’s Cross Country: 1969, 1970, 1973, 1976, 1977, 1978, Bowerman Watch: After landing three Ducks on the preseason watch list 1979, 1982, 1988, for the top award in the sport, the Women of Oregon made history in the 1989, 1990, 1992, February edition by landing a record five athletes on the list. Raevyn Rogers, 1995, 2006, 2007, 2008 Women’s Cross Country: 1976, 1977, 1978, Deajah Stevens and Ariana Washington remained on the watch list from the 1979, 1980, 1982, preseason, and Hannah Cunliffe and Sasha Wallace joined them in the latest 1983, 1984, 1985, edition after tremendous starts to their 2017 season. 1986, 1987, 1988, 1990, 1991, 1992, On the men’s side, Edward Cheserek remains from the preseason list, but 1995, 2012, 2014 his inclusion impacted history as well. Cheserek made his 23rd career appearance on the Bowerman watch list, the second-most in the history of the award and only one behind the all-time record.
