St John Rigby College (SJR) Private Buses ( Red Timetables ) These buses are provided by St John Rigby College. You will need to show your Valid SJR Student ID to use these services in addition to your valid bus pass. Students wishing to use these services will be required to purchase a Bus Pass from St John Rigby College. This Pass can be purchased termly, the approximate cost per term is £120, less than the equivalent to £10 per week. The exact cost of the pass will be shared with students via communication prior to the start of the academic year. Some students may be eligible for a Bursary to help with Travel costs, to apply visit http://sjr.ac.uk ‘Financial help for students’ as soon as possible. Buses will stop at any bus stop on the route that the bus travels down providing the student puts out their hand to stop the bus. We advise students to get to the bus stop 10 minutes before the scheduled time and to continue to do this throughout the year. Occasionally the appearance of the bus may change at some point in the year, however the number of the bus is clearly visible either in the window or on a digital display on the front of the bus. Please see the RED timetables and routes of these buses. 2. Greater Manchester Buses (Blue Timetables) These services are contracted/commercial services provided by Finches Bus Company and Tyrers Coaches via Transport for Greater Manchester and are for St John Rigby College and Winstanley College Students only. St John Rigby College has no control over these buses. Timetables and routes are set by the provider and regulated by Transport for Greater Manchester. If you have any comments, suggestions or enquiries, please contact the service providers directly, details of which are provided at the end of this booklet. Please see the BLUE timetables and routes of these buses. 3. Public Transport If you choose this method of transport and you live in Greater Manchester, you will need to travel from your local area into Wigan Town Centre and use the Warrington’s 640 or 641 service from the bus station.
