The Department of History & Government is preparing for its upcoming accreditation review by the National Council for Accreditation in Teacher Education (NCATE). The Teacher Education Advisory Board for History and Social Studies for the Department met on Wednesday, October 26, 2011. The Board consists of former graduates of the Department who are employed in secondary education positions, in both the private and public sectors, throughout the Washington metropolitan area; current students of the Department, both teaching and non-teaching, who will bring a fresh, twenty- first century view of the Department’s strengths and weaknesses in the preparation for current and future teachers; and a cross spectrum of faculty and administrators who impact upon the teacher education programs for the University.
