Andy Karl Andy Karl has recently completed work on the ABC pilot Staties and the feature Faraway Eyes. His run on the highly popular Broadway production of Tim Minchin’s Groundhog Day (directed by Matthew Warchus) began with a sold-out run at London’s Old Vic. His performance as the now iconic Phil Connors has won Karl the Drama Desk Award, Laurence Olivier Award (both for Best Actor in a Musical in 2017) and landed him his third Tony nomination. In television, Andy is well-known for his one-year stint on the legendary Dick Wolf show, Law & Order: SVU, as Lieutenant Mike Dodds. Prior to that, Andy had a recurring role on ABC’s Forever and was seen opposite Michael Douglas and Diane Keaton in the feature film And So It Goes, directed by Rob Reiner. Additional screen cred- its include Joyful Noise opposite Queen Latifah and Dolly Parton, and New York, I Love You. Other notable theater credits include winning the Outer Critics Circle Award and nominations for Tony, Drama Desk, and Drama League awards for his starring role opposite Kristin Chenoweth in the Broadway revival of On the 20th Century. For his critically acclaimed performance as Rocky Balboa in the Broadway musical Rocky, Andy Karl was nominated for Tony, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle, and Drama League awards. He also starred in the revival of The Mystery of Edwin Drood (Drama Desk nomination), 9 to 5, Legally Blonde (ACCA Award), The Wedding Singer, Sat- urday Night Fever, Romeo and Bernadette (Carbonell nomination), Cats, Disney’s On The Record, and Tommy. Megan Lawrence Megan Lawrence won critical acclaim on Broadway as Gladys in the Tony Award- winning revival of Pajama Game. She starred opposite Harry Connick, Jr., and garnered a Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actress in a Musical, a Drama League nomination for Distinguished Performance, and an Outer Critics Award Nomination for Outstanding Featured Actress in a Musical. Most recent- ly, she starred as Louise in the Roundabout Theatre’s Broadway production of Holiday Inn at Studio 54. The show was also filmed live, shown on PBS’s Great Performances, and released in cinemas. She originated the role of Little Becky Two-Shoes in the Broadway and Off-Broadway productions of Urinetown and later went on to play the role of Little Sally. She made her Broadway debut as Eponine in Les Misérables and was seen as Claude’s Mother in the Tony Award-winning Broadway revival of Hair. Off-Broadway she starred as Gloria Thorpe in the New York City Center’s Encore Series production of Damn Yankees with Sean Hayes and Jane Krakowski. Some of her other favorite roles include Lucetta in Two Gentlemen of Verona at the Delacorte Theater, Charlotte in Flora the Red Menace at Jason Alexander’s Reprise Company in Los Angeles, and Frenchy on the national tour of Grease. Megan began her career in her hometown of Baltimore and the Washing- ton, D.C., region. She performed often at D.C.’s Signature Theater where she won a Helen Hayes Award for her portrayal of Little Red Riding Hood in Into The Woods and was also nominated for Helen Hayes Awards for Marta in Company and Sally in Cabaret. A true story of sexuality, spirituality and the mystery of human experience, The Tricky Part is one of the most heralded one-man plays in recent memory. Between the ages of 12 and 15, Martin Moran had a sexual relationship with an older man. Many years later, Moran found and confronted his abuser. Moran, a New York-based actor and author, has transformed his story into a riveting, often funny and always surprising journey through the complexities of Catholicism, desire and human trespass. The New York premiere of ‘The Tricky Part’ received a 2004 Obie Award and two Drama Desk nominations including Outstanding Play. The New York Times hailed the work as “a translucent memoir of a play … shattering.” Martin Moran was awarded a 2013 Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Off-Broadway Solo Show for All the Rage. Now she advocates for others with these conditions. Stage lights, flashing cameras of paparazzi, air travel, and adoring fans seeking selfies are all in a day's work for actress and singer Kristin Chenoweth. They're also the reasons the Broadway legend, recording artist, and TV star almost retired in her thirties. Identifying triggers and finding the right combination of medications help actress and singer Kristin Chenoweth manage her migraine attacks. Photograph by Michael Larsen The performer says light, even from a smartphone's tiny camera, can bring on a migraine with aura—a temporary visual loss or disturbance—intense nausea, and crippling head pain, as well as room-spinning vertigo. Now 51, Chenoweth has battled these symptoms half her life. Her first attack happened mid-performance with the Virginia Symphony when she was 25. She lost peripheral vision and saw strobing flashes, or what she refers to as "kaleidoscope eyes." The viselike head pain that followed left her "crawling off the stage," she says, only to retreat to her hotel room. There, she vomited repeatedly and experienced extreme light sensitivity and dizziness, even as the worst headache of her life did not abate for days. "I didn't know what hit me," says Chenoweth, who is readying for the release of For the Girls, her seventh album, with an all-star roster of female singers including Ariana Grande, Dolly Parton, and Reba McIntire.
