CALL TO CONFESSION Sandra Randleman - 8:30 Josh Rodriguez - 11:00

PRAYER OF CONFESSION To you, Holy God, we confess our sin with as much shame and sorrow as we can muster. We know it won’t be enough because we are on easy terms with our sin. We confess to you, O God, that we deceive ourselves about our sin, and then we deceive ourselves about whether we deceive ourselves, slipping and sliding and sidestepping the truth. O God, You are holy beyond all that we can think or imagine. You are the source of righteousness, the overflowing fountain of goodness. You made us to be like You in knowledge, righteousness, and holiness. And yet here we are, so often soiled, smudged, distracted from Your purposes, and running after the gods of this world. Please forgive and restore us through , Your Son…

(A moment for silent confession.) ASSURANCE OF PARDON

*RESPONSE OF GRATITUDE To God Be the Glory

To God be the glory, Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, great things He has done! let the earth hear His voice! So loved He the world Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, that He gave us His Son, let the people rejoice! who yielded His life an atonement for sin, O come to the Father thro’ Jesus the Son, and opened the life gate that we may go in. and give Him the glory, great things He has done!

*AFFIRMATION OF FAITH

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth.

And in Jesus Christ His only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under , was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy ; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

ANTHEM This Is My Father’s World arr. Elaine Hagenberg This is my Father’s world, This is my Father’s world, And to my listening ears, He shines in all that’s fair, All nature sings, and round me rings in the rustling grass I hear Him pass, The music of the spheres. He speaks to me everywhere. This is my Father’s world, This is my Father’s world, I rest me in the thought O let me ne’er forget Of rocks and trees, That though the wrong Of skies and seas seems oft so strong, His hand the wonders wrought. God is the Ruler yet.

This is my Father’s world, This is my Father’s world, The birds their carols raise, The battle is not done, The morning light, the lily white, Jesus who died will be satisfied Declare their Maker’s praise. And heaven and earth be one.

SCRIPTURE LESSON :10–23

10 I rejoiced in the Lord greatly that now at length you have revived your concern for me. You were indeed concerned for me, but you had no opportunity. 11 Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. 12 I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. 13 I can do all things through him who strengthens me. 14 Yet it was kind of you to share my trouble. 15 And you Philippians yourselves know that in the beginning of the gospel, when I left Macedonia, no church entered into partnership with me in giving and receiving, except you only. 16 Even in Thessalonica you sent me help for my needs once and again. 17 Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that increases to your credit. 18 I have received full payment, and more. I am well supplied, having received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent, a fragrant offering, a sacrifice acceptable and pleasing to God.19 And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. 20 To our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen. 21 Greet every in Christ Jesus. The brothers who are with me greet you. 22 All the saints greet you, especially those of Caesar’s household. 23 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.

Pastor: The Word of the Lord. People: Thanks be to God.

SERMON Well Supplied for the Journey Ryan Moore “I can do all things through him who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13
