When we catch up with Billie the following day, The Mummy Diaries star, 29, describes her big day as ‘like a fairy tale, everything I could have dreamt of and more’, while banker Greg, 32, says: ‘There were so many stresses leading up to the wedding. But on the day, when I saw Billie walking down the aisle, all those melted away. We couldn’t have asked for anything more.’ Greg and Billie – who found fame on The Only Way Is Essex and went on to star in The Mummy Diaries alongside her sister Samantha – have dated for seven years and been engaged for five, so the wedding was a long time coming. ‘We would have got married sooner but we started having kids!’ laughs Greg, referring to the couple’s children, four-year- old Nelly and two-year-old Arthur. When a wedding has been five years in the planning, expectations are understandably high. When we catch up with the new Mr and Mrs Shepherd, they are excitedly reminiscing about every little detail. The day before the wedding saw Billie and Greg celebrate separately – Greg with a lads’ fishing trip and Billie with a girlie dinner, but both were well behaved and tucked up in bed by 10.30pm. On the morning of March 5, Billie sprang out of bed at 5am in the water villa she was sharing with her mum Sue and sister Sam to check the weather, so anxious had she been about rain stopping play. She needn’t have worried as blue skies reigned and the sun-soaked island looked its best. ‘I almost felt like I didn’t want the wedding day to begin as once it began I knew it would be closer to being over!’ Billie tells us. Billie and Greg had opted to exchange vows on Kuramathi’s sand bank with Greg and his three best men arriving by speed boat, which he says was ‘very James Bond’!
