Laurie is an extremely significant producer in film and television. He began his career working with producer David Lean for a number of years and has since worked with notable figures including Alan Parker, Stephen Frears, Emma Thompson, Stephen Woolley, Neal Jordan, Ang Lee, Kit Harrington, Tom Hardy, Helen McCrory, Cillian Murphy, Lindsay Doran, Hugh Grant, Jane Horrocks, James Nesbitt, and Charlie Brooker. His career continues to rise exponentially having recently won an Emmy for one of his episodes for the cult Netflix series, Black Mirror. What is particularly impressive about Laurie is that he no longer approaches television or film companies; they always come to him to help produce highly significant television series such as Peaky Blinders, Black Mirror, Gunpowder, and Occupation for which he received a BAFTA Adam Smith (He is unusual in having first started in film, and then moved to television.).
