    SELECCIÓN FEMENINA - MUNDIAL DE TURQUÍA - PORTADA RUMBO AL MUNDIAL DE TURQUÍA SELECCIÓN FEMENINA - MUNDIAL DE TURQUÍA - EL PRESIDENTE JOSÉ LUIS SÁEZ Universo Mujer El Mundial Femenino de Turquía cierra el verano de selecciones en el que se han conseguido ocho medallas en categorías de formación, tanto mas- culinas como femeninas, lo que sitúa a España como primerAa potencia europea y segunda del mundo.Por todo ello, este torneo que comienza este sábado, puede ser la guinda de un pastel en el que las selecciones femeninas han brillado de nuevo, con dos platas (en el Europeo U20 y el Mundial U17) y dos bronces (Europeos U18 y U16). Pero no nos podemos relajar mirando hacia atrás. El baloncesto femenino es una de nuestras prioridades y no nos faltan ideas ni proyectos, ni fuer- zas para afrontar el próximo periodo con nuevos retos, en las canchas y fuera de ellas. Proyectos deportivos, sociales y de gestión, entre los cuales va a merecer un esfuerzo prioritario la organización de la Copa del Mundo Femenina del 2018. La experiencia de la Copa del Mundo 2014 y el ejemplo que ha supuesto de una nueva gestión y visión de lo que es un gran evento deportivo internacional nos van a servir sin lugar a dudas para presentar próximamente al Central Board una candidatura extraor- dinaria, nunca antes planteada para un campeonato de deporte femeni- no. Nosotros seguiremos invirtiendo en el futuro de nuestro baloncesto femeni- no. Y lo haremos con más compromiso si cabe a partir de ahora, también a través del Universo Mujer, nuestro proyecto integral de formación, de compromiso, solidaridad y responsabilidad social, de proyección en nuevos sectores, promoción del baloncesto en la calle.
