Alsip, Illinois, in Cook county, is 3 miles South of Oak Lawn, Illinois and 14 miles South of Chicago, Illinois. The people of the village are in the Chicago metropolitan area. This village is named after an early industrialist, Frank Alsip, who established the first industries beginning with a brick factory and a clay quarry. Alsip has a 2020 population of 18,431.
