Bachelor of Design at Kerals State Institute of Design Kerala State Institute of Design (KSID), Chandanathope P.O, Kollam, Kerala-691014, has invited applications for admissions to the first batch of 4 year Integrated Bachelor of Design (B.Des) Programme for 2020-21. The Institute has been set up by Department of Labour and Skills Excellence, Govt of Kerala and is affiliated to APJ Abdul Kalam Technical Unive rsity and approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The total intake is 30 of which 50% seats are reserved for applicants from Kerala. Eligibility: Applicant should have passed 10+2/Higher Secondary exams with minimum marks of 55% marks. Upper age limit will be 20 years (born on or after August 1, 2000) in case of General/General EWS categories and 23 years (born on or after August 1, 1997) for reserved category. Applicant should have a valid score in the Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination in Design (UCEED) 2020, conducted by IIT Bombay. The initial selection would be based on the UCEED score. Short-listed applicants will be called for an Interview. Admissions will be based on reservation as per Kerala State Government rules. Those selected, have to undergo a mandatory generic foundation programme of 2 years followed by a 2 year domain specific training. On successful completion of the first 2 years of generic foundation, student has the choice to choose the design discipline based on his/her merit and skills. The electives available are Product Design, Communication Design, Textile Design and Apparel Design.
