Denver Broncos Postgame Quotes & Notes Denver Broncos vs. Miami Dolphins • INVESCO Field at Mile High • Sunday, Dec. 12, 2004 DENVER BRONCOS HEAD COACH MIKE SHANAHAN On winning challenged Miami interception “I wasn’t sure I wanted the reversal at that time. We had (Miami) pinned back inside the ten-yard line. I talked to Jason (Elam) and we thought the wind was going too strong to try (a field goal) from that distance (51 yards). So we had to make up our minds if we wanted to punt it again or go for it, and it turned out to be the right decision even though we didn’t convert on the points. “I threw the flag.” On rookie RB Tatum Bell “Tatum has been having a few good weeks of practice. We think he has a big upside, and we think (Bell and Reuben Droughns) compliment each other. When Reuben had a couple fumbles early, we decided to go in that direction. Obviously (Tatum) did a great job. He has some big-play capability, and it was unfortunate that he had a third-degree separation in his shoulder and he couldn’t play anymore.” On severity of Bell’s left shoulder injury “I really don’t know, but a third-degree separation isn’t good. That’s as high as it goes.” On if there was a wind change on Jason Elam’s game winning field goal “When it was at the 34 (yard line) and really the wind had died down, I said, ‘how do you feel now?’ When we went for it (on fourth down) from the 34, I felt like there wasn’t much of a chance.

  • He's with Who?
HE’S WITH WHO? Although only about eight percent of the free agents available switched teams this year, it seemed that this offseason contained an unusual amount of big-name switches through trades and free-agent signings. Five running backs coming off 1,000-yard performances in TRAVIS HENRY (now with Denver), THOMAS JONES (New York Jets), JAMAL LEWIS (Cleveland), AHMAN GREEN (Houston), and TATUM BELL (Detroit) will don new uniforms this season, as will running back WILLIS MC GAHEE (Baltimore), a two-time 1,000-yard rusher. Several quarterbacks, including TRENT GREEN (Miami) and MATT SCHAUB (Houston), will be under center for a new team this season. Five-time All-Star wide receiver RANDY MOSS will now catch passes from TOM BRADY in New England. Linebackers with Pro Bowl experience like DONNIE EDWARDS (Kansas City), CATO JUNE (Tampa Bay), JOEY PORTER (Miami), TAKEO SPIKES (Philadelphia) and ADALIUS THOMAS (New England) will be lining up for new teams in 2007. “I knew there was a chance I might be traded,” says Jones about ultimately landing with the Jets. “The Jets were definitely my first choice.” Some notable players who changed teams this offseason: PLAYER NEW TEAM 2006 TEAM TRANSACTION S Adam Archuleta Chicago Washington Trade RB Tatum Bell Detroit Denver Trade WR Drew Bennett St. Louis Tennessee Unrestricted FA CB Dre Bly Denver Detroit Trade QB David Carr Carolina Houston FA CB Nate Clements San Francisco Buffalo Unrestricted FA S Donovin Darius Oakland Jacksonville FA CB Jason David New Orleans Indianapolis Restricted FA G Leonard Davis Dallas Arizona Unrestricted FA G Derrick Dockery Buffalo Washington Unrestricted FA S Mike Doss Minnesota Indianapolis Unrestricted FA RB Reuben Droughns NY Giants Cleveland Trade LB Donnie Edwards Kansas City San Diego Unrestricted FA LB London Fletcher Washington Buffalo Unrestricted FA QB Jeff Garcia Tampa Bay Philadelphia Unrestricted FA TE Daniel Graham Denver New England Unrestricted FA RB Ahman Green Houston Green Bay Unrestricted FA QB Trent Green Miami Kansas City Trade WR-KR Dante Hall St.

  • Denver Broncos Postgame Quotes Friday, August 29, 2008
Denver Broncos Postgame Quotes Friday, August 29, 2008 BRONCOS HEAD COACH MIKE SHANAHAN Opening comments: “I think overall we turned out fairly healthy. I think Lou Green has a minor hamstring (injury). Exactly how severe it is I really don’t know at this time. I should know in the next day or two, but I thought that was some great effort out there and I was pleased with the effort going into the fourth game. I got a chance to evaluate some second and third-team players today. We had some great competition out there. We’ll go back and look at that film later on tonight and early in the morning and make some decisions tomorrow to determine who our top 53 guys will be.” On how tough it will be to decide the 53 man roster in a short period of time: “Yes, normally we play this game on a Thursday night. Obviously playing on a Friday night is a lot tougher, but you have to deal with the schedule.” On the possibility of cutting good quality players: “A lot of good players are cut in the National Football League. There is a lot of competition obviously Arizona feels the same way. You got to make it (the decision to cut) and you’re hoping that if they don’t make your club they’ve got a chance to play in the National Football League. We got a lot of guys who have worked extremely hard to take advantage on an opportunity some will some won’t.
