Port Washington, WI (April 27, 2011) – For the first time ever, Fathers across America can be honored with the Honors Collection golf shoes, making a great debut on the Father’s Day wishlist.

The Allen Edmonds Shoe Company is ramping up its handcrafting efforts for the collection’s 2011 debut this spring with a variety of traditional shoes, called the Honors Collection. The Honors Collection will feature five new styles specific to golf, each suited to distinct performance and styling. This new business direction extends the company’s legendary and premium men’s dress shoe line by targeting the golf market with high quality, time-honored styling, comfort, craftsmanship and performance so known from Allen Edmonds.

While other golf shoe brands have abandoned manufacturing Goodyear welted shoes in the USA for cheaper production methods off-shore, Allen Edmonds is building classic golf shoe styles by hand. The shoes feature the finest premium leathers with the Goodyear 360-degree welted construction for greater stability while maintaining flexibility. Part of the craftsmanship uses a layer of soft cork between the insole and outsole for custom-like orthotic comfort as only Allen Edmonds can do. Every shoe in the Honors Collection comes in multiple widths. So like the finest golf clubs, a golfer can now get golf shoes that feel custom fitted. Like the company’s world-renowned dress shoes, Allen Edmonds golf shoes will be available for their legendary Allen Edmonds’ RecraftingTM services.

The new Allen Edmonds Honors Collection™ golf shoes features QR code technology on hang tags that can use mobile technology to access a special video showcasing the new line’s fine craftsmanship process, Ben Crenshaw’s commentary about the Honors Collection and the line’s five shoe styles.

Ben Crenshaw and Allen Edmonds Crenshaw, the legendary two-time Masters Champion, 19-time PGA Tour winner and winning Ryder Cup Captain, will be wearing the new Honors Collection golf shoes as he plays on the Champions Tour and in his other golf-related ventures. Crenshaw and his partner Bill Coore are restoring the renowned Pinehurst Number 2 Course which will stage the 2014 U.S. Open and U.S. Women's Open Championships. Their firm has designed and built 23 golf courses around the world.

The new line will be sold in the finest golf shops and resorts, online and the 33 Allen Edmonds retail stores. The Honors Collection also will feature these golf shoe accessories: • Allen Edmonds performance golf socks using 2-in-1 technology that combines a skillfully knit inner liner made of moisture-repelling Olefin with a breathable outer sock made of stretch nylon and soft Merino wool. • Cedar products including customizable cedar shoe trees. Allen Edmonds can put a private club logo on the shoe trees along with a member’s name and locker number for example. • Shoe care products for locker room attendants to help keep golf and dress shoes looking their finest.
