After the visit of service groups from Epping Forest District Council, and other units from Essex County Council in December last year, there have been two meetings in the Village Hall between residents from Sheering and members of Epping Forest Services staff. At the last meeting on Monday 18th June it was suggested that a committee should be formed to try to get more social events started in the Village and Lower Sheering and also advise residents on any queries dealing with local problems. After some discussion it was decided that a greater number of residents of Sheering should be asked if this is what they really wanted before it was taken any further. The next meeting is scheduled for 10 September at 7.30 in the Village small hall so it would be nice to see more residents attending as there were only nine people from the whole of Sheering at the last meeting and we would get a broader picture of opinion from both parts of Sheering before deciding whether or not to proceed. The Inheritance Tax Trap Don’t get caught out Many people pay large amounts of Inheritance Tax unnecessarily If only they had received expert advice, their tax bills could have been reduced or completely avoided. The death tax rate on a person’s estate above the Nil Rate Band is at present 40%. There are many exemptions and reliefs available, some of which may apply to you. With careful planning it is possible to reduce your tax liability significantly and ensure that your beneficiaries inherit the result of your lifetime’s work and not the Inland Revenue. Take independent financial advice and secure your future.
