City Hall station "A Deserted Architectural Gem"

The City Hall Subway Station is an inactive subway station on the National Register of Historic Places. Going out of operation in 1945, it was closed up for 69 years before it was finally unsealed. Its curved architecture and arched ceilings were simply a novelty for the new platform, making it unique among all stations. The glass work on its domed ceiling is a marvel by Rhododendrites in itself. Since usually visitors cannot actually enter the station, the only way to see it is to stay on the six train past the final Bridge stop, and marvel at this beautiful station from the train as it turns around here. Sometimes private events are held in the station, truly a rare experience for those lucky enough to be invited.

East Coast Memorial "World War II Memorial"

Located in Battery Park at the very southern tip of , this World War II memorial features eight 19-foot (5.8-meter) granite pillars engraved with the names of over 4600 U.S. servicemen who either died or were reported missing overseas in the western Atlantic Ocean during Word War II. The New York Earth Room is an art installation of the interior of the earth rendered by Water De Maria. The first of these sculptures was made in 1968 and installed in Munich, which has since been dismantled. "Historic Townhouse"

The very beautifully preserved Merchant's House Museum shows how New York's merchant class lived in the 1800s. The brick townhouse was built in 1832 in the Greek-Revival style. Three years later, a successful merchant by the name of Seabury Tredwell bought the property, and it housed his family for generations. Today, visitors can see just how the family lived in the 19th Century. The kitchen and the fixtures are original, and in fact, all the furniture was used by this family.

The City Reliquary "Great for NYC History Buffs"

City Reliquary started as a street-level display in founder Dave Herman’s former apartment. Herman displayed bits of New York history; from souvenir of the 1964 World’s Fair to old bottles and a set of false teeth found at Dead Horse Bay. Before long, other collectors donated their oddities, and the windowsill became a rotating museum by Denis Defreyne display. You can visit the original windowsill display on Grand and Havemeyer, but City Reliquary is now a two-room museum with a small gift shop a few blocks away on Metropolitan. Alice Austen House "An Ancient Historic House"

The monumental located in Staten Island. Also famously referred as Clear Comfort, it was home to ace photographer Alice Austen. In the light of the present day, it stands as a house museum that hosts school programs, photography camps and day trips. Louis Armstrong House Museum "Home of a Jazz Legend"

Located in the Corona neighborhood of Queens, this national and city landmark was the home of New Orleans jazz icon Louis Armstrong during the latter half of his life. Today, the house also operates as a museum, where much of the house and its furnishings remain just the way Armstrong and his wife, Lucille, left it. The museum is shown only through by Jim.henderson guided tours, which last 40 minutes and begin every hour. The tour takes visitors through the house, while also playing audio clips from Armstrong's life, such as him practicing his trumpet or eating a meal, among other things. After the 40-minute tour, visitors are welcome to explore the exhibit area and a Japanese garden.

The Trinity Church Cemetry and Mausoleum "Deep in Holy Ground"

Trinity Church Cemetery has graves of many historic and famous personalities including Alexander Hamilton, Robert Fulton, William Bradford among others. Surrounded by 100-year-old oaks and elms, the cemetery is a very peaceful place, with grassy knolls and well maintained by Gryffindor paths. This is one of the last remaining cemeteries in the Manhattan area. There are two bronze tablets here that mark the spots where fierce battle took place during the revolution. This cemetery is marked in the National Register of Historic Places and it still offers its services to the New Yorkers.

The Coney Island Museum is a small but informative museum dedicated to preserving the history of Coney Island. The museum features Coney Island memorabilia like the Steeplechase Horse, the Boardwalk Rolling Chair, Funhouse Distortion Mirrors, and antique souvenirs. Little Red Lighthouse "Light House"

The Little Red Lighthouse, also called Jeffrey's Hook, was a serving lighthouse until the George Washington Bridge was built. It served from 1880 to 1917 at Sandy Hook, New Jersey and then here at Jeffrey's Hook from 1921 to 1947. A part of the City Park Department, the Urban Park Rangers conduct tours of the lighthouse and includes food, reading the by Pgelfan story called Little Red Lighthouse by Hildegarde Swift and the Great Gray Bridge by Lynd Ward and also take you to see pictures. The lighthouse stands on the point called Jeffrey's hook and close to the eastern pier of the bridge.

Hall of Fame for Great Americans "They're All Here"

Located at Community College, this national landmark, The Hall of Fame for Great Americans, was founded in 1900 by Cornelius McCracken, the president of New York University, to celebrate Americans who have made a profound impact on American History. A breathtaking 630-foot open-air Colonnade designed by Stanford White houses bronze busts of the 102 Hall of Fame honorary, and overlooks the Harlem River. The honorees include a huge range of trailblazers from authors and architects to statesmen and explorers, such as Alexander Graham Bell and Eli Whitney.

Queens County Farm Museum "Two Centuries of Farming History"

This 47-acre site, parts of which are over 200 years old, is a working farm that grows produce and houses livestock. It is hard to believe that a place like this exists in New York City, but there it is. The farm hosts a yearly children's festival and apple festival, and there is a picnic area on the premises. There are also regular tours of the farm and its history, and a by davidmpacey variety of educational programs. Admission is free.
