    Dansk Skak Union - Hovedbestyrelsen Bilag til punkt 3 på HB-mødet den 31. august 2008 Forretningsudvalgets beretning: Hovedbestyrelsen Resultatmæssigt: Peter Heine Nielsen blev en sikker vinder af DM på Hotel Scandic i Silkeborg med 7 point af 9 mulige. Lars Schandorff blev nummer to med 6/9, og fire spillere: Sune Berg Hansen, Allan Stig Rasmussen, Jakob Vang Glud og Mikkel Antonsen delte tredjepladsen med 5.5/9. Fire spillere delte førstepladsen ved K41 Scandinavian Open: Lars Schandorff, Henrik Danielsen, Stellan Brynell og Nikolaj Mikkelsen sluttede alle lige med 7.5/10. For Nikolaj Mikkelsen betød det samtidig den afgørende norm til IM-titlen, og havde Mikkelsen vundet partiet i sidste runde, havde det sågar udløst en GM-norm. Helsinge genvandt det danske mesterskab i holdskak foran Århus/Skolerne og Brønshøj. Det var sjællændernes ottende titel på stribe. Lars Bo Hansen gjorde en god figur ved Sigeman-turneringen i Malmø, hvor den danske stormester blev nummer 3 med 6/9 i et stærkt felt. Allan Stig Rasmussen vandt Copenhagen Chess Challenge med 6.5/9. Tre danskere var med ved EM i Plovdiv, hvor der bl.a. blev kæmpet om World Cup-pladser. Peter Heine Nielsen var længe med i kampen om dem, men sluttede uden for med 7.5/13. Karsten Rasmussen og Nicolai V. Pedersen sluttede begge langt nede i et meget stærkt felt med henholdsvis 4.5 point og 4 point. Brønshøj vandt Pokalfinalestævnet på Hotel Nyborg Strand foran Århus/Skolerne og Jetsmark. Jetsmark vandt i Bredderækken og Viby i juniorrækken. Peter Heine Nielsen delte sammen med Jonny Hector og Sergey Klimov sejren ved hurtigskakturneringen Tectura Active Chess.
