Mitchum's Hardest Working Person in America Chad Pregracke Featured in Albert Maysles Documentary Mitchum's Hardest Working Person in America Chad Pregracke Featured in Albert Maysles Documentary October 18, 2010 Illinois river crusader among those showcased in MORE THAN A PAYCHECK: America's Hardest Workers airing tonight on Sundance Channel NEW YORK, Oct 18, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Two months ago, Chad Pregracke became Mitchum's "Hardest Working Person In America," a title that was earned by winning a four-month long contest designed to find, highlight and reward the hardest working man or woman in the country. America voted Pregracke, the founder of Living Lands & Waters - a not-for-profit organization dedicated to cleaning up and preserving the nation's rivers - Mitchum's "Hardest Working Person in America." Pregracke is now among five individuals featured in a short film by acclaimed documentary director Albert Maysles, MORE THAN A PAYCHECK: America's Hardest Workers, airing tonight on the Sundance Channel. The 22-minute documentary will showcase Pregracke's work at his not-for-profit organization, Living Lands & Waters. Since starting Living Lands & Waters in 1998, Pregracke, his crew, and more than 60,000 volunteers have collected over six million pounds of debris from our nation's greatest rivers. "Capturing Chad's work on the river, doing the job he loves and we admire, is an important and inspiring story to tell," said director Albert Maysles. "Along with the Mitchum brand, I am honored to profile Chad and his team as they tackle the Mississippi, and we hope that we offered an engaging look at this conservation crusader, hero that he is." MORE THAN A PAYCHECK: America's Hardest Workers will give a unique, behind-the-scenes look into the lives of five engaging, hard working individuals - a cattle rancher in South Dakota, a coach in South Carolina, an entrepreneur in California, a baker in Brooklyn, and Pregracke. Mitchum's "Hardest Working" campaign was Mitchum's first new brand campaign in five years and was created by director and producer Brett Ratner, founder of the creative content company Brett Ratner Brands (BRB). Mitchum's HWPIA campaign launched in May 2010 and received more than 150 video submissions from hard working men and women from across the country. In August, when announcing that America awarded Pregracke his title of "Hardest Working Person In America" Alan Ennis, CEO of Revlon, which owns the Mitchum brand said, "Chad Pregracke epitomizes the drive and dedication embodied in Mitchum's hardest working person in America contest. Chad's work in preserving the Mississippi, Illinois and other rivers for the enjoyment of all truly justified America's decision to vote him the winner." • Alternatives for the 2007 North American Contact Dermatitis Group (NACDG) Standard Screening Tray
Contact Allergy: Alternatives for the 2007 North American Contact Dermatitis Group (NACDG) Standard Screening Tray Andrew Scheman, MD, Sharon Jacob, MD, Matt Zirwas, MD, Erin Warshaw, MD, Susan Nedorost, MD, Rajani Katta, MD, Jeremy Cook, BA, and Mari Paz Castanedo-Tardan, MD Introduction Most primary care physicians see a large number of patients each year with eczematous skin diseases. Although many of these patients have atopic eczema, another extremely common cause of eczema is contact allergy. This subgroup of eczema patients is notably resistant to treatment unless the causative allergens can be identified and eliminated. It is estimated that allergic contact dermatitis (ACD) to topical products alone occurs in 1% to 3% of the general population.1,2 Unlike respiratory and food allergies, ACD is not histamine-mediated but is instead a T-cell- mediated delayed-type hypersensitivity reaction.3 The basic pathophysi- ologic process behind ACD is primary skin contact with an allergenic chemical which triggers an immune cascade and results in an eczematous reaction at the site of contact. On first exposure to low molecular weight chemical substances (haptens Ͻ500 Da), there is generally no skin reaction.4 During this first phase, these haptens enter the epidermis and are recognized by antigen present- ing cells, which in turn create signals that transform naïve T cells into memory T cells, a process which typically takes 5 to 25 days.4 Subsequent reactions due to “challenge” with the same chemical sub- stance generally occur between 24 and 48 hours after exposure; however, reports of reactions occurring as early as 8 hours after exposure and as long as 1 week after exposure are not uncommon.4 Dis Mon 2008;54:7-156 0011-5029/2008 $34.00 ϩ 0 doi:10.1016/j.disamonth.2007.10.002 DM, January/February 2008 7 ACD is diagnosed by a procedure called patch testing.
