I live in the , St Helens and Ward, and at present there are two councillors who represent the three areas. This works very well with each councillor covering certain aspects of local government responsibilities, rather than area, and when one is away, the other covers, liaising with each other and the three Town and Parish Councils. I think the ward boundary should remain the same, with two ward councillors, as there are no large development proposals in the near future (as far as I am aware) which would compromise electoral equality. The three areas - Bembridge, St Helens and Brading, form a natural physical boundary, with the parish boundaries reflecting the perimeter of the Ward boundary.

I think the Wards are perfectly all right without any changes. It is good to have two Councillors for Brading, St Helens and Bembridge as it gives local residents opportunity to vote for two people who might have complementary strengths so that it helps the whole community.

I live in Sandown South. It seems completely wrong geographically to have the two Sandown wards named South and North. It would make more sense if they were renamed Sandown West and Sandown East. That part of the electoral map would then make more sense.

street is split by the boundary between Lake South and Shanklin Central. This means that our house, on the north of the street, is in the Lake South ward. This makes no sense at all in terms of where we look for our community. We live in Shanklin, not Lake. The Lake boundary is further along the main road, where the railway bridge forms a natural boundary. This is where the Lake South ward boundary should be drawn. Wards should surely be based on town boundaries and natural borders, not drawn arbitrarily to make even numbers. Thank you.

Leave Wroxall and Godshill as they are thank you! If it isn't broken, don't fix it. Plus we have the best Councillor on the Island representing us so why would we want change? As for the other Wards, plan them so there is a greater chance of the Tories losing control of County Hall so the Island will have a chance of moving forward and not being drowned by cuts. The Council is a shambles and is being run by out of touch, wannabe politicians - a definite time for change.

I find it odd that a small proportion of properties on the south of Blackwater Road / St Georges Way should be within the Newport East Ward. I understand that the boundary runs up the middle of Shide Road and the middle of Medina Avenue. It would make better sense if the whole of the Shide area were brought within the same Newport South Ward.

Get rid of one of them for Brading bembridgemail and St Helens. They are both useless.so to gethe rid of one would save money and would be no loss in any way.

Where it is the case that most of the electoral divisions (wards) have one county councillor it should not be the case that one ward has two members. In the case of Bembridge, Brading and St Helens this is the only two-member ward, making the voters more likely to select two of any party (or two independents), rather than one from one party and the other from a second party. It may be acceptable with many similar wards, but it would not be acceptable with one two-member ward. The solution would be either (1) to have one ward for St Helens and Bembridge North and one for Brading and Bembridge South; OR (2) to have one ward for Bembridge Urban and the other being Bembridge Rural, Brading and St Helens.

Dear Sir/Madam Due to a landslide in 2013/4, ten properties to the West of St.Lawrence on the A3055, have had vehicular access severed from the designated electoral ward. I would therefore request that the boundary is reviewed so that these 10 or so properties are included in the ward of . My reasons for the request are as follows: • Due to the landslide on the A3055 in 2013/4, vehicular access to our voting ward, St Lawrence has been cut off. • After 5 years, there are no concrete plans to reinstate vehicular access due to excessive cost and short design life. • We are consequently more socially, economically and geographically connected to the village of Niton. • Travel to the St Lawrence polling station by car ) now takes us on a round the houses route via two other polling stations; Niton and Whitwell before we would reach St Lawrence. • Isle of Wight Planning services already address us as ‘Undercliff Drive Niton’ not St Lawrence (see attached). • The road signs in both Niton and all direct traffic to the East side of the closure for St Lawrence. A3055 road signs in Niton point to Niton Undercliff not St Lawrence. • The postcode PO38 1XY covers properties either side of the closed section of road which makes deliveries extremely difficult. If the road were to be reinstated, which is our preference, it would be logical for us to remain in St Lawrence but this is looking very unlikely. Kind regards Peter & Barbara Wright
