Situation Overview The Low Pressure Area (LPA) Northeast of Borongan City, Eastern Samar has developed into a Tropical Depression and has been named "ODETTE".
● Estimated rainfall amount is from moderate to occasionally heavy within the 300 km diameter of the Tropical Depression. ● Possible inclusion of Babuyan Group of Islands, Apayao, Kalinga and Mountain Province under Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal (TCWS) #1 tomorrow morning. ● Sea travel is risky over the northern seaboards of Northern Luzon.

Status of Prepositioned Resources: Stockpiles and Standby Funds The DSWD Central Office (CO), concerned Field Offices (FOs), and National Resource Operations Center (NROC) have stockpiles and standby funds amounting to ₱1,025,297,675.97 (see Table 1) with breakdown as follows: a. Stockpiles A total of 348,796 Family Food Packs (FFPs) (see Table 2) amounting to ₱121,301,924.18 and available Food and Non-food Items (FNIs) amounting to ₱406,514,649.21 b. Standby Funds A total of ₱497,481,102.58 standby funds in the CO and FOs. Of the said amount, ₱451,163,659.05 is the available Quick Response Fund in the CO.

● DROMIC Preparedness for Response Report(s) on Tropical Depression “ODETTE” is available online at: http://dromic.dswd.gov.ph. ● The DSWD has 562 Central Office QRT members while the Field OFfices have 1,544. The DSWD also has 18 Disaster Response units continuously monitoring at all DSWD FOs.
DSWD-FO II DATE ACTION(S) TAKEN ● The Social Welfare and Development (SWAD) Teams in the provinces of Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, and Nueva Vizcaya were alerted and advised to closely monitor the effects of the Tropical Depression. Likewise, the FO closely coordinated with the respective Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Councils (PDRRMCs). ● As of the moment, there are no reports yet of affected families or damaged 12 October 2017 houses due to flooding. ● The FO continuously shared PAGASA advisories to LGUs through our Provincial/City/Municipal Social Welfare and Development Offices (P/C/MSWDOs), SWAD Teams, and Municipal Action Teams (MATs). ● The Provinces of Cagayan, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, and Isabela is experiencing intermittent rain showers while the province of Batanes is experiencing cloudy skies.
