Doublé Final Pour Le Lexus Lc Dans Le Championnat Super Gt INFORMATION PRESSE R.P. 2019-128 Vaucresson, le 6 novembre 2019 DOUBLÉ FINAL POUR LE LEXUS LC DANS LE CHAMPIONNAT SUPER GT À l’issue d'une confrontation palpitante ce dimanche 3 novembre sur le circuit de Motegi, au Japon, le Lexus LC 500 du Team LeMans Wako’s n° 6 de Kazuya Oshima et Kenta Yamashita a remporté le Championnat Nippon de Super GT 2019. En tête du classement avant cette dernière manche de la saison, les deux pilotes faisaient figure de favoris. Toutefois, deux autres équipages semblaient bien décidés à les priver du titre, à commencer par le LC 500 n° 37 de Ryo Hirakawa et Nick Cassidy, engagé par KeePer Tom’s. En remportant la course des GT500, ce dernier a d’ailleurs permis à l’écurie KeePer Tom’s d’enlever le titre par Equipe pour la saison 2019. Pour sa part, le LC 500 du Team LeMans Wako’s s’est classé deuxième à Motegi, offrant à Oshima et Yamashita leur premier titre Pilote. Concernant cette dernière course de la saison, la troisième place est revenue à la voiture n° 36, le LC 500 du Team au Tom’s piloté par Kazuki Nakajima et Yuhi Sekiguchi, suivi par le LC 500 n° 38 du Zent Cerumo emmené par Yuji Tachikawa et Hiroaki Ishiura. Lexus s’adjuge donc les quatre premières places lors de cette dernière apparition du LC 500 en Super GT, avant son retrait de la compétition. Pour le duo Quintarelli/Matsuda, l’objectif du weekend était clair : terminer la course au minimum à la cinquième position, et surtout devant la voiture n°12, qui les précédait au classement des équipes de 3 points (85 points pour la n°12 et 82 points pour la NISSAN GT-R n°1), ainsi que de 2 points au championnat des pilotes (66 points pour Yasuda/De Oliveira et 64 pour Quintarelli/Matsuda). Avant le départ de la course, chez NISMO et son partenaire Michelin Motorsport, les visages étaient tendus, la concentration à son comble. Une victoire en Super GT est autant une question de prestige que de suprématie technique. Dans ce championnat si relevé, les constructeurs nippons sont poussés dans leurs retranchements technologiques, ainsi que les quatre fournisseurs de pneumatiques, tous d’envergure mondiale. Michelin est « l’étranger », celui qui vient d’Europe pour défier les trois manufacturiers locaux. Un défi de taille, un exercice réussi pour la firme française, qui avait déjà remporté 3 titres lors des 4 dernières saisons, le dernier en 2014, déjà avec NISMO et Quintarelli/Matsuda.
