AV Equipment The meeting room will be provided with a laptop and data projector for the presentations (pdf or ppt). There is Wi-Fi access for participants at the venue (login codes will be available on the day). All papers should be sent to Nadine Clarke ([email protected]) for printing and uploading by Monday 3 September . If presenters want hard copies of their presentation slides to be made available to the participants as well, the same deadline for printing applies. 3. For participants whose accommodation costs are covered by the organisers, please be reminded that incidental expenses such as the mini-bar, laundry, telephone, Internet or any other service offered by the hotel are not covered and should be settled with the hotel directly. 4. Directions The most convenient airports to fly to are Linate Airport and Malpensa Airport . Linate Airport to Grand Visconti Palace City bus no. 73 Take the no.73 bus (outside the terminal building) downtown to piazza San Babila . Journey takes 25 minutes, with departures every 10 minutes. Tickets (1,50 Euro) can be purchased from the newsagent inside the airport terminal or by the ATM vending machines close to the bus stop. The bus has special luggage racks. Also note you can take the express bus, Bus no.X73, which is quicker, but only operates from 7am-8pm on weekdays. Then, board the Metro at San Babila station , taking the MM1 line to Duomo station (1 stop). Change here and board the MM3 line to Lodi Tibb station . From here, walk 200m along Viale Isonzo to the hotel. Milan metro info: Trains run every 1-3 minutes. Service starts at 6.00AM and the last trains run at around midnight (2AM on Saturday nights). http://subway.umka.org/map-milan.html http://wikitravel.org/en/Milan Starfly Shuttle Take the Starfly shuttle bus service from Linate Airport (outside Arrivals) to the Air Terminal at the Central Station (Stazione Central ). Journey takes 30 minutes, with departures every 30 minutes from 06:10 to 23:30. From here, walk 200m along Viale Isonzo to the hotel. Taxi Alternatively, take a taxi from Linate Airport straight to the hotel. This will cost around €20, excluding tips. Malpensa Airport to Grand Visconti Palace Malpensa Express Train 2 Board the Malpensa Express train from Terminal 1 to Milan Cadorna Station . The journey takes around 35 minutes, and trains leave every 30 minutes up until 11:20pm. Tickets cost €11 for a one-way trip, and €14.50 for a single day round trip. Your ticket must be bought and validated in the station before boarding. Here, exit the railway station to board the Metro at Cardnoa FN station . Take the MM1 line to Duomo station (3 stops), and then change and take the MM3 line to Lodi Tibb station (4 stops). From here, walk 200m along Viale Isonzo to the hotel. http://www.malpensaexpress.it/en/index.php For a full timetable http://www.fnmgroup.it/website/file/4922.pdf Malpensa Shuttle Take the Malpensa Shuttle from Malpensa Airport Terminal 1 to Milan Central Station . The journey takes around 60 minutes, and buses leave every 20 minutes from 06.20 until 23.30. Buses also depart from Terminal 2, but 10 minutes later. The one way fare is €7.50, return/round trip is €12. Going back to Malpensa airport from Milan Central Station, buses depart every twenty minutes from 05.00 until 23.15. http://www.malpensashuttle.it/ Taxi Alternatively, take a taxi from Malpensa Airport to the hotel. This will cost around €70-€90, and will take approximately 60 minutes (but can be longer at peak times). Grand Visconti Palace to the Conference Venue (IGIER) Board the Metro, taking the MM3 line from Lodi Tibb station to Porta Romana station . From here take tram n.9 and get off at the stop “Porta Lodovica”, which is just in front of Bocconi. Alternatively, you can follow the map below and take the 15 minute walk to IGIER. 5. Meals Breakfast should be taken at the hotel. Lunch and refreshments during the day will be provided at the conference venue during the breaks in the programme. A conference dinner will also be organized on Friday 14 and will take place at the “Boeucc Restaurant” – piazza Belgioioso 2, 20121 Milano. Any dietary requirements can be accommodated if indicated in advance (by September 7) . 6.
