Created in 2009, ArtPrize is an international art competition that takes place over 19 days every other year in Grand Rapids, MI. Over 1200 artists take over downtown and the surrounding areas to compete for $250,000 in prizes. The public determines the winners via votes they cast through a smartphone app. The grand prize winner receives $200,000.

ArtPrize is free to the public and attracts over 500,000 visitors, making it the most attended public art event in the country. The mission of ArtPrize is to celebrate artists, encourage critical discourse, transform urban space and promote cultural understanding.

ArtPrize is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. Support from corporate sponsors represents our largest source of revenue, accounting for over 60% of ArtPrize’s $3.2 million operating budget in 2018. THE FESTIVAL

Presenting Sponsor of Award Categories Artist submissions are placed into one of four categories, each with a dedicated prize. The Category Presenting Sponsor has its design collateral integrated into all official broadcasts (in coordination with our broadcast partner, NBC- affiliate WOOD TV8) along with an opportunity to present the award during a live, televised awards ceremony.
