FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: FOREVER IN YOUR MIND SIGN TO DISNEY MUSIC GROUP’S HOLLYWOOD RECORDS (Left to right: Ricky Garcia, Liam Attridge, Emery Kelly; photo credit: Lester Cohen) (Burbank, CA) -- November 10, 2015 -- Forever In Your Mind have signed an exclusive recording contract with Disney Music Group’s (DMG) Hollywood Records. The pop band trio, comprised of Emery Kelly, Ricky Garcia and Liam Attridge, are currently in the studio recording their debut album, set for release next year. Prior to their major label debut, Forever In Your Mind will be premiering an original holiday single, “Wrapped Up For Christmas,” on the Radio Disney Family Holiday special debuting December 4 on Disney Channel. FIYM have already released two singles, “Whenever” and “Shake Your Booty.” “Whenever” is the theme song of the Disney Channel show “Best Friends Whenever.” and was written by Lindy Robbins and Mitch Allan. “Shake Your Booty” is a rollicking remake of the ‘70s classic and was also released on Walt Disney Records’ soundtrack for “Best Friends Whenever.” The band spent this past summer on the road for the North American Digitour, performing for thousands of fans every night, alongside Fifth Harmony, Jesse McCartney, Demi Lovato and Bea Miller. Their surging popularity landed them a coveted spot in Variety Magazine’s 2015 Youth Impact Report. Emery Kelly and Ricky Garcia began performing together when former X-Factor judge Demi Lovato put them together on the show. Emery and Ricky have both appeared in several Disney Channel shows as well. Emery guest starred in Disney Channel’s Emmy-nominated series “Dog With A Blog” and Disney XD’s “Lab Rats” while Ricky, currently a series regular on Disney Channel's “Best Friends Whenever” as the loveable goofball Naldo has also appeared in Disney Channel’s hit series “Girl Meets World.” With their debut album and growing TV popularity, FIYM will be in fans' minds for quite some time. The established consensus in 1964: encourage immigrant children to assimilate as soon as possible. For the scholarship underlying this consensus, see Milton Gordon’s monograph Assimilation in American Life: the role of race, religion, and national origins, New York: Oxford University Press, 1964. Because of this long-held consensus, the more recent finding that immigrant children now do better than American-born children is regarded as evidence of a “paradox.” Scroll to the bottom of this document for citations documenting the immigrant paradox. Disclaimers: I am not endorsing Dr. Gordon’s recommendations. 1964 was not the good old days; that era was much more racist and sexist than our own. Every era has its challenges.
