Shiva Reddy • On April 11, 2019, Telugu poet K. Shiva Reddy was honored with the (Saraswati Award 2018) prestigious Saraswati Award, a cash prize of Rs 15 lakh along with the award for his collection of poem named “Pakkaki Ottigilite”. He was born in 1943 in Karmurivari Palam near Tenali, Andhra Pradesh. He has won many awards including Sahitya Akademi Award for his book ‘Mohna O Mohna’. • Saraswati Samman Award is given annually for excellent literary work written in any of the 22 Indian languages listed in Schedule VIII of the Constitution of India. It is one of the highest literary awards estab- lished by KK Birla Foundation in 1991. There are a total of 238 couplets, which describes the world’s largest constitution, the In- dian Constitution, in a very simple and poetic form. The author took 6 months to write this book and it also mentions all the articles of the Constitution. • On October 5, 2016, ‘Sanvidhan Kavya’ was released by Dr. Kiran Bedi, Lieutenant Governor in Puducherry. Rana Dasgupta(Awarded Rabindranath • British Indian novelist Rana Dasgupta has been honored with the Tagore Literary Award 2019) second edition of the Rabindranath Tagore Literature Award 2019 for her 2010 novel ‘Solo’, which is the story of the last failure of the mindset and physical existence. This award includes Tagore’s statue, a certifi- cate for contribution to literature and a cash prize of $ 10,000. Other Important Points - • The World Health Organization Goodwill Ambassador Yohei Sasakawa has been awarded the Rabindranath Tagore Literary Award 2019 for social achievement for his incredible efforts for leprosy and great con- tribution in world peace. • Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-Wen was awarded the Rabindranath Tagore Literary Award for social achievement as a ‘symbol of democ- racy’. • Rana was awarded the Ryszard Kapuseinski Award in 2016 for the novel “Capital: The Eruption of Delhi”. Sudhansu Kumar • On April 10, 2019, Sudhanshu Kumar, founder of Digital Sukun, has been awarded the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Nobel Prize by the Interna- tional Human Rights Council in Hotel Sea Princes Juhu Mumbai. This agency has been named the Best Digital Agency of the year 2019. • Digital Sukun is a Mumbai-based digital solution agency, which pro- vides a comprehensive 360 degree comprehensive solution for its campaign, so that new campaigns and technology tools can be used properly. This fellowship was given by Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern to strengthen relations between India and New Zealand. • She won the Silver Medal in the Shot Put F53 event at Rio Paralympic in 2016.     CAPTAIN VIKRAM BATRA YE DIL MAANGE MORE Captain Vikram Batra, PVC was born on 9 September 1974 in Palampur, Himachal Pradesh, India. He was the third child of his parents. He attended the D. A. V. public school in Palampur, where he studied up to middle standard. He was very good in studies as well as in sports. He represented his school in table tennis at All India KVS Nationals. He was also a green belt holder in karate and went on to attend a national level camp in Manali. Later, he attended DAV college, Chandigarh in B.Sc Medical Science. At college, he joined the Air Wing of the National Cadet Corps(NCC) while he was in the first year. During the Inter State NCC Camp, he was adjudged the best NCC Air Wing Cadet of Punjab Directorate in North Zone. He was selected and underwent a 40-day paratrooping training with his NCC Air Wing unit at Pinjore Airfeild and Flying Club. During the next two years in DAV, he remained a cadet of the Army Wing of NCC. He afterward qualified for the ‘c' certificate in the NCC and attained the rank of Senior Under Officer in his NCC unit. Subsequently, in 1994,he was selected for the Republic Day Parade as a NCC Cadet, and when he came back home, he told his parents that he wanted to join the Army. In 1996,he passed the CDS examination and got selected at the Service Selection Board(SSB) at Allahabad. He was among the top 35 candidates in the order of Merit.
