    Una Boccata d’Arte 20 artisti 20 borghi 20 regioni Milano, 18 June 2021 RENATO LEOTTA IN CENTURIPE We're approaching the opening of the second edition of Una Boccata d’Arte, a contemporary art project spread all over Italy, in all of its regions that, from 26 June to 26 September 2021, promotes the meeting of contemporary art with the historical and artistic beauty of the the most evocative villages in Italy. Una Boccata d'Arte is a project by Fondazione Elpis, in collaboration with Galleria Continua, and the participation of Threes Productions, that gives full creative freedom to the artist and allows the use of any artistic media, exploring various themes that dialogue in a convincing way with the villages. The twenty villages, selected each year on the basis of: less than 5000 inhabitants; the presence of an active cultural scene; and a capacity for family- run artisanal, commercial and hospitality industries, welcome twenty site specific artworks created by emerging and established artists, all of whom have been invited by the Fondazione Elpis and Galleria Continua. SICILY Centuripe is the village that will host the exhibition EROS E PSYCHE by the artist Renato Leotta. Costituito con D.P.R.S. n. 147 del 23 maggio 1997, a seguito della soppressione dei Consorzi di Bonifica Montana del versante tirrenico dei Monti Nebrodi, della Valle dell’Alcantara e del Consorzio del Mela, ha competenza territoriale su una superficie lorda di ettari 300.007 ricadente per intero nella Provincia di Messina. Si tratta di una vastissima area territoriale che si estende dalla Valle dell’Alcantara sino al confine con la provincia di Palermo, con caratteristiche orografiche, morfologiche e tipologie colturali del tutto peculiari ed assolutamente differenti rispetto a quelle del restante territorio dell’Isola. Tali caratteristiche e peculiarità fanno del Consorzio di Bonifica 11 Messina un soggetto dotato di una sua individualità specifica che va salvaguardata a beneficio di tutti i fruitori dei servizi dallo stesso erogati e delle opere dallo stesso realizzate.     Dear Friends of Meredith Travel, I just spent a most enjoyable morning. In preparation for writing this letter about our September 25-October 7, 2018, tour of Sicily, I reviewed my photographs from the trip I made there this past summer. I simply can’t wait to go back! Betty describes southern Italy as Italy to the 3rd power—older, grander, and more richly complex. Sicily, we agree, is Italy to the 10th power, at least. It was, by far, the most exotic version of our favorite country that I have yet to encounter, made so by its location and history, which includes a dizzying mix of cultures. It was Greek far longer than it has been Italian. It was Arab. Norman. Swabian. Aragonese. Austrian. Even Bourbon French! All left their mark. And finally, and relatively recently (1860), the Risorgimento fought it into being part of unified Italy. The food, the architecture, and customs can best be understood by experiencing them all firsthand, so without further ado, I would like to summarize our itinerary for you. Join me now as we vicariously tour Sicily together. Day 1: Sept. 25 (Tues) Departure. We depart the U.S. to arrive the next day in Palermo, the capital of the autonomous region of Sicily. Day 2: Sept. 26 (Wed) Palermo. Palermo is a city of 700,000, by far the largest on the island, with an ancient historic city center with structures representing the panorama of its past. After a quick driving tour to orient us to the city, we stop, drop bags at the hotel, and head out to see perhaps the most perfect medieval buildings in the world, the Norman Palace and Palatine Chapel, the latter known for its extraordinary mosaics designed in such a way that the aesthetics of the Arab, Jewish, and Norman artisans are all incorporated.

While for the part of nature there is the „Ente Parco Fluviale Dell'Alcantara‟, one of the five Sicilian regional parks, on the other, for the archaeological‟s one, the fact that the river divides the area into two administrative courts, or two provinces, has caused an abandonment of the sites and the complete lack of interest. The project 'the Rock Sites of the Akesines: by the Sicels to the Byzantines', directed by the Institute of Sicilian Archaeoastronomy in partnership with the Soprintendenza and the University of Catania, plans to map all rock sites of Alcantara Valley and study its astronomical orientations in order to realized, in a later stage, a real tourist itinerary. One of the most fascinating sites certainly is Rocca Pizzicata, where there are several man-made emergencies, including a rare rock altar facing east. But starting from the eastern side of the Alcantara Valley, near the ancient Naxos, where lie the remains of the first Greek colony in Sicily, these sites are numerous, and among them we must surely be included: Petra Perciata, Rocca Perciata, Rocca Badia, Rocca S.

Abstract This paper sets out the results of a research project carried out by the University of Palermo and financed by the Sicilian Region, which aims to establish the impact of the Fischler Reform on Sicilian agriculture, and to project future scenarios that take into account some of the changes that the production process may undergo in the Region, following both the application of the Reform itself (now in force) and the eventual application of indications contained in the Health check. The impacts of the Fischler Reform, and especially the application of the Single Payment scheme to companies, were examined in cereal cropping companies, especially considering the significant amount of durum wheat cultivation in vast areas of the Region’s hilly and its strategic importance for many areas where there is a risk of farming being abandoned, with grave consequences for the territory and its farmland, for employment and for the encouragement of food and processing industries.

    4) Borgo Schisina nel territorio del comune di Francavilla di Sicilia (ME) - Il borgo di tipo A è stato costruito negli anni 1953-1955, quale borgo di servizio per i 148 lotti e per le case dei lavoratori agricoli assegnatari realizzate nel territorio di Francavilla in attuazione dei piani di ripartizione della riforma agraria. Il programma di interventi pubblici ha comportato anche la costruzione di quattro borghi di tipo C: Piano Torre II-III, San Giovanni, Morfia (ex Piano Torre I-V), Monastero, con prevalente destinazione residenziale, e altri due solo abitativi: Malfitano e Pietrapizzuta. Il borgo è costituito da 8 edifici principali destinati a delegazione municipale, ufficio postale, caserma dei carabinieri, ambulatorio medico, scuola, due botteghe artigiani, chiesa e canonica, uffici dell’ente, forno, trattoria e rivendita, alloggi per gli addetti ai vari servizi, bevaio. L’accesso dalla strada statale avviene tramite una breve stradella asfaltata. Nel 1962 è stato oggetto di un intervento edilizio per trasformarlo in colonia montana, in considerazione delle mutate esigenze di riforma agraria dell’area collinare. I lavori, completati nel 1966, hanno visto la trasformazione di scuola, delegazione municipale e caserma in dormitori, dell’ufficio postale in uffici della colonia, della trattoria in refettorio, delle botteghe in alloggi del personale di servizio. Dopo tali lavori non ci sono stati ulteriori interventi pubblici di manutenzione, né risulta che gli edifici siano stati utilizzati per la loro nuova destinazione, se non da gruppi oratoriali nei soli periodi estivi. La struttura degli edifici è in c.a. e muratura portante, i solai di tipo misto c.a.-laterizi, i tramezzi di mattoni forati, gli infissi in profilato o legno.
