MEA Recommended Candidates – Election 2014 as of 10/30/14

Candidates who earn MEA’s recommendation have submitted written questionnaires and been interviewed by MEA members like you. The decisions to recommend or not recommend are based on educational policy positions and positions on employee rights in bargaining. Recommendations are granted pursuant to the MEA‐PAC Screening & Recommendation (S&R) process, which requires that all eligible candidates from both major parties be invited to an interview conducted by local MEA members from the MEA coordinating councils (clusters of local associations) within the legislative district. Statewide recommendations are made by the MEA‐PAC Statewide Screening & Recommending Committee, which is composed of members elected from across the state. Positions on ballot initiatives are taken by the MEA Board of Directors.

S&R decisions are made on an ongoing basis at the local level. If a race is not listed below, that race has not yet been screened. If the race is listed and states “No Position”, then the determination was made that MEA is not recommending any of the candidates on the November General Election ballot.
