Hello everyone! As I write this column the temperature outside is minus 8°C in mid-January so by the time you read it I hope the snow and ice have long since gone and we can look forward to much finer weather and some lovely Springtime and Get Walking Week Summer health walks. 4th – 11th May 2013 It’s Get Walking Week from 4th - 7th May 2013 Get Walking Day just got bigger - it’s Get (see article opposite) so as part of ‘doing our bit’ Walking Week! This year the Ramblers are towards the national awareness campaign we will extending the event to a whole week. include the ‘Bluebell Walk’ from Great Ayton. Brookfield & Kader Strolling & Walking Group was formed to encourage more people to enjoy the benefits of walking and at the same time explore the local greenbelt and countryside - all walks are led by trained community volunteer walk leaders. Register for all walks at St Clare’s Church, Low Lane, Brookfield at 9.30am for 9.45am start! Bring a drink and a snack, walking boots/shoes and a rainproof coat. Cost per walk / stroll 50 pence - moneys go toward two annual bus outings. Car-sharing - we suggest a £2 minimum donation to the driver towards fuel costs.
