REQUEST DETAILS:

1. “How many dogs have been seized under section 1 of the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991, for the following years 2011,2012,2013,2014,&2015 (either financial or calendar, dependent on how you record information)

2. How many of those dogs were also subject of an offence contrary to Section 3 of the DDA 1991, for the same periods as at Q1.

3. What was the average period of time in days that a dog was held in secure kennels pending the outcome of proceedings, for the same periods as at Q1.”

RESPONSE:

Norfolk and have considered your request for information and our response is below.

This response is correct as of 13 April 2016

1. Suffolk and Norfolk Constabularies do not hold information concerning dangerous dogs seized prior to 2012.

For the 2012 calendar year onwards, the total number of dogs seized under section 1 of the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991, is provided as follows, by calendar year and force.

2. The total number of those dogs mentioned in question 1, which were also subject to an offence contrary to Section 3 of the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991, was as follows:
