FLORAL DESIGN PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Build a successful career in floral design with the New York State Education Department certified Floral Design Program.

This six-week program teaches the best practices of the floral design industry from top florists in the nation.

At the culmination of the program students will have the foundation skills, techniques and design aptitude to work in or open their own professional flower shop or design studio.

The Floral Design Program is built upon hands-on learning where each student has the opportunity to create in all fields including retail, wedding, sympathy and corporate. IT IS OUR GOAL THAT EVERY STUDENT

LEARNS THE BEST PRACTICES THEIR SKILLS TECHNIQUES, SKILLS AND AND DESIGN KNOW-HOW VARIETY OF HIGH END IN REAL LIFE SHOPS OR DESIGN STYLES FROM STUDIOS DURING THE CLASSIC TO CONTEMPORARY INTERNSHIP PORTION OF THE PROGRAM

UNDERSTANDS THE EXPLORES THEIR OWN BUSINESS OF THE FLORAL VISION AND PERSONAL INDUSTRY THROUGH OUR DESIGN STYLE SIMULATION AND ADVANCED COURSES ENROLLMENT

The Floral Design Program is offered five times a year. FlowerSchool New York accepts a rolling enrollment; first come, first served until the program reaches capacity.

ENROLLMENT REQUIREMENTS 18 Years of Age High School Degree or Equivelant

Students are advised to register as soon as possible to ensure their place in the Floral Design Program. Registrations are processed upon receipt and a letter of confirmation is e-mailed by the Registration Office. TUITION Floral Design Program requires a total of 132 hours, which includes class time and internship hours. The total cost for the program is $7,850.

A $600 Down Payment ($500 Registration Fee and $100 deposit ) is due to enroll. This payment will go toward the total cost of the program

TUITION REFUND & CANCELLATION POLICY A student who cancels within 7 days of signing the enrollment agreement, but before instruction begins receives all monies returned with the exception of the nonrefundable $500 registration fee. Thereafter, a student will be liable for: The non-refundable registration fee plus The cost of any textbooks, supplies accepted plus Tuition liability as of the student’s last date of physical attendance. Tuition liability is determined by the percentage of the program offered to the student.

SUMMER ROBBINS (SUMMER 2014) BEND, OREGON SUMMER ROBBINS FLOWERS Summer Robbins found a passion for flowers after a decade-long career in the industry. She decided to quit her job, and take the plunge into the career she knew she was meant for. In 2014, Summer completed the Floral Design Program and has since gone on to create one of the most successful floral businesses in Bend, Oregon, receiving both national and local attention. Summer Robbins Flowers was named “Best Florist Outside of Portland” in 2017 and 2018 by Oregon Bride magazine, and has been repeatedly named "Best Florist outside of Portland" by surrounding publications. HAZAL SEN (FALL 2016) ISTANBUL, TURKEY MISK Hazal came to FlowerSchool NY with a dream of opening a floral cafe. Less than a year later that dream has materialized. Hazal graduated from FlowerSchool NY in the Fall of 2016. Since then, she and her partner, Eda Erbilgin, have opened MISK in Instanbul. IRAZU CORDERO (SUMMER 2016) LION, MEXICO OTILIA CASA FLORAL Irazu graduated FlowerSchool in the summer of 2016. Since then she has launched Otilia Casa Floral, a beautiful floral design and event studio. She has an exquisite sense of color and texture and uses seasonal blooms in her arrangements.
