National Institute of Technology Andhra Pradesh is 31st in the list of NITs, established in Tadepalligudem town, , Andhra Pradesh, India in the academic year 2015-16. The institute is admitting students into B.Tech., in 8 branches of Engineering with an intake of 480 students per year. This institute has been brought into NITSER act through an amendment (No. 42 of 2016) which has come into force on 20th August 2015.

Currently NIT Andhra Pradesh is mentored by NIT Warangal in temporary campus of Sri Vasavi Engineering College, Tadepalligudem, West Godavari District, Andhra Pradesh-534102. MISSION AND VISION

NIT Andhra Pradesh Central Library is located at our temporary campus Sri Vasavi Engineering College library which is iconic building in campus.

The library established in September, 2015 with an emphasis on development of text and reference books collection which required for the curriculum. The library presently consisting of approximately 12,000 volumes of books and subscribed to more than 55 print journals/magazines in all subject areas.

• The Department of Humanities and Social Sciences has been recently started. It plays a unique role in teaching very important non-technical Subjects to the students pursuing very important courses in the Institute. The main focus is on communication in Scientific and Business contexts. • The department offers regular courses in "English for Communication" to the students of B.Tech., programmes. A new "Soft Skills" elective was started for the third year B.Tech., Students. • The department is looking ahead to introduce foreign language courses and a range of social sciences subjects for the engineering students. • The department runs a language laboratory located in the computer center. The main objective is to strengthen the language and communication skills of the students. It has 40 computers connected with LAN ideal for learning courses. International day of yoga NSS Club

NIT-AP formed it’s NSS club with many objectives . In a short time the NSS club organized “International Mother language day” and going to organize a mega event tree plantation in the permanent NIT campus. The main objectives of the NSS club are : • Enable the students to understand the community in which they work . • Understand themselves in relation to their community . • Identify the needs and problems in the community and find a solution with their intellectuality and technical skills. Physical Education Games and Sports facilities

• The Department of Physical Education provides training facilities for all the students and staff of this institute. It has excellent infrastructure facilities for both outdoor and indoor games. Flood light facility is provided to all the outdoor games.
