4 | The Boardwalk Journal July 2010 Staff Joins President for Baldrige Award Opening

On June 30th, David P. Tilton, President and CEO, AtlantiCare, invited AtlantiCare staff to assist him in opening a box labeled “fragile” that recently arrived at AtlantiCare’s corporate offices in Egg Harbor Township. In his invitation to staff, he hinted that it might be the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award (MBQNA) crystal...which it was! President Barack Obama and United States Department of Commerce Secretary Gary Locke named AtlantiCare one of only five winners of the 2009 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award (MBNQA) December 7. The President of the United States usually presents the award to recipients. Representatives of AtlantiCare will attend the awards ceremony in Washington, D.C. later this year. Congratulations!

6 | The Boardwalk Journal July 2010 the raw feed Atlantic City is quickly becoming a hot-spot for the jet setting hip-hop crowd. Party people were out and about over the 4th of July weekend as Diddy and his Dirty Money Crew brought their act to The House of Blues and followed it up with Diddy throwing a bash at The Pool at Harrah’s the following night. Also scheduled to be in town with his own star-studded event was reigning boxing king Floyd “Money” Mayweather. Rap star Fabolous was also scheduled to perform at Jay Z’s 40 / 40 Club. 50 Cent recently brought his G-Unit Posse to town and our Criminal Law spies allegedly saw Mayor Lorenzo Langford in attendance. Langford was also reportedly in attendance last year when gun-toting rapper T.I. came to town before being sent off to federal (Adult & Juvenile) prison. The fact that hip-hop’s elite are now making Atlantic City a destination resort for the State/Federal/Municipal hip-hop community is perfectly fine by us and is long overdue. On that note, props should be given to Atlantic City Councilman Mary $mall and the now defunct Marty $mall Entertainment DWI/Traffic Offenses who tried desperately for years to perfect the hip-hop party in Atlantic City under the mantra, ‘We throw events, not parties.’ P.S., we’re still waiting on our $30 refund from that Expungements Allen Iverson party, we mean event… Casino Licensing Speaking of refunds, bad weather got the kick-off for the Atlantic City Hilton’s new James J.
