Ministry of Public Health

The Ministry of Public Health denied that it had issued any statement about the registration of the first infection with the Indian mutant of the Corona virus, and also confirmed that everything that is being circulated in this field is untrue, stressing that, since the beginning of the pandemic, it has been working to inform citizens of any development related to the spread of infection through official statements, not via social media.

The Minister of Health stated on Twitter that, to date, the number of vaccine recipients has reached 12,000 recipients aged 50 years and over in the campaign of the week with the efforts of centers and volunteers, and announced that 42,000 invitations will be sent over 4 days for those under 30 years of age to register on the platform until February 14, thanking each person who sacrifices for the highest values.

The Ministry of Public Health reported that PCR tests had been completed for flights that arrived in , and were conducted at the airport on June 20, 21, 22, 23 and 24, 2021, and the results showed the presence of eighty-eight (88) positive cases, distributed on the following flights:

Lebanese Army Forces

- The army units continue to distribute social aid (400,000 Lebanese pounds) to families with limited income in all Lebanese territories. - 319 PCR tests for army personnel and only 7 positive cases (4 civilians, 2 active army personnel and 1 retired). - Supporting the security services in implementing the decisions issued by the Council of Ministers.

General Decisions / Announcements

The General Directorate of Civil Aviation issued the following statement: In compliance with the decisions and recommendations related to limiting the spread of the Corona epidemic, it is strictly forbidden for persons receiving arriving passengers to enter the arrival hall of Rafic Hariri International Airport - Beirut, as well as preventing departing passengers from being bid farewell inside the departure hall. And entry to the two halls is limited to arrival and departure for passengers, official bodies and employees of companies operating at the airport, provided that this measure will start working on Monday, 06/28/2021.

The meeting of the Follow-up Committee on Preventive Measures and Measures for the Coronavirus, held on 23/6/2021, issued the following recommendations:

1. Maintaining the same approved procedures for arrivals at Beirut International Airport, provided that a working group is formed from the committee that includes: Dr. Petra Khoury - Dr. Mahmoud Zalzali - Brigadier General Muhammad Al Sheikh - Mr. Fadi Al-Hassan and Mr. Nabil Rizkallah to evaluate the procedures followed at the airport, with regard to the PCR examination, where it is conducted, and the possibility of developing it.

2. The Ministry of Public Works and Transport - the General Directorate of Civil Aviation, in coordination with the Ministry of Public Health, to review the positive cases arriving in Lebanon from the airports of the following countries: Ethiopia - Iraq - Egypt - France - Turkey and the United Arab Emirates to study the source of these cases and the possibility of adding the arrivals from them to the Directorate's circular General of Civil Aviation No. 19/2 related to obligating passengers who wish to come to Lebanon from some countries to have a hotel reservation and at their own expense for a period of 4 nights - 5 days to implement the quarantine, except for those who received at least one dose of the vaccine.

3. The Lebanese University is working to include its laboratory concerned with conducting PCR tests within the quality assessment program approved by the World Health Organization.

4. The Ministry of Tourism put in place the appropriate mechanism for reopening nightclubs, while adhering to all preventive measures and measures, in coordination with Mr. Nabil Rizkallah, member of the Committee to Follow up on Preventive Measures and Measures for the Coronavirus.

5. The Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities amended the closing times of restaurants to be until 1.30 am.

Middle East Airlines - Lebanese Airways announced that, in addition to France, Cyprus, Germany, Denmark and Greece, Belgium and the Netherlands have allowed Lebanese holders of Visa Type C visas to enter their territories, and that the mandatory entry requirement for both Belgium and the Netherlands is just to fill out the form for passengers via the company's website and that there are no other procedures required such as a PCR test result or an official vaccination certificate.
