Mr Satish Paretkar is a First Class (with Distinction) Civil Engineering Graduate of 1975 batch from Government Engineering College, Jabalpur. He has significantly contributed in many prestigious national infrastructure projects over his four-decade-long career. Paretkar has significant experience of the Himalayan region as he has spent over two decades in extremely challenging high-altitude projects in Kargil, -Ladak sector. Paretkar is the proud recipient of the ‘Bharat Jyoti Award’ in 2018, ‘Bharat Ratna Mother Teresa Gold Medal’ award in 2017, and Satish Paretkar ‘Engineer of the Year” award in 2015 besides other accolades for Director, Hydro and Underground BU outstanding contribution and achievements in the construction Afcons industry.

Atal Tunnel, Rohtang, in India, is the longest road tunnel in the world 3,000m, or, 10,000 ft above sea level. A

project of Border Roads Organisation (BRO), the tunnel was constructed by Strabag-Afcons Joint Venture (SAJV). Strabag is an Austrian company with its headquarters in Vienna, and, Afcons is a part of India’s leading engineering conglomerate, the .
